""Going the extra mile" is almost a cliche today, overused, and doing little to convey the real extraordinary effort by those professionals like Shari that truly deserve the mantle. From the moment we contacted Shari about the sale of our property, she was incredible, communicating, coordinating, and ultimately, completing the sale with better care than most people would give their ohana! Being in the military, my wife and I were stationed out of state. When we decided to sell our condo we reached out to Shari immediately, since she helped us purchase eight years ago. She immediately began coordination with the property manager, community manager, and tenant - all while keeping us continuously informed despite the six hour time difference. She worked with the existing tenant to expedite repairs and prepare the home for listing. Some of the repairs even required coordination with an adjacent neighbor, whom Shari personally contacted and worked to get us reimbursed. When our property management company was holding up parts of the process, Shari was our "man on the ground" that worked with them directly to keep things moving. When the property was listed, Shari kept us apprised of the interest and participation at the open houses. When the sale wasn't immediate and my wife and I started debating whether to lower the price, Shari recommended that we stay the course for a little longer, and sure enough, the next day we received a full price offer! During the contract process, Shari continued to keep us informed and guide us through the many steps and organizations involved. As a side note, the contracting process is almost as daunting as the sale itself. As a seller, especially a first time seller, you worry about what will come up in the inspection, if you missed anything in the forms, try to figure out which organization does what, and what is really important. Having a knowledgeable, accessible, and preemptive guide is incredibly helpful for easing the process and reducing the stress. Shari was that person for us every step of the way. The best way I can think to summarize what Shari meant to us as our real estate agent is that she is the highest standard of the profession. We started talking business just weeks before I was about to end my deployment in which case, I was able to stop over in Hawaii for about a week. She immediately went to work upon assignment sending me tons of prospects. I landed on island during the weekend but she guaranteed me time throughout the following days and shifted her schedule around to meet my needs. We looked intensively at openings and scouring the areas for listings that may have not been up just yet and brand new. Even after spending all day searching and driving from city-city/town-town, Id sometimes want to go back to certain listings to try and narrow down the selection. She walked me through the entire process where I was able to place an offer on a home the day I left. The entire beginning of the process was so seamless that the same night I arrived back home from deployment, my wife and I were delighted with amazing news that our offer was accepted!Since then to closing she was with us every step of the way even though we were divided by thousands of miles of open water. I called her on a wednesday to talk to her about the type of house we were looking for, she called me on Thursday to say she had something I should see that wasn't on the market yet. I went to see it on Friday and made an offer on Saturday. It was exactly what we were hoping for. We offered below asking price and it was accepted which is almost unheard of in Kailua. Even after escrow closed Shari was extremely helpful when we wanted to start some renovations. I still go to her if I need to find a gardener, handyman or tax questions.
