But before all of that, we were looking at another home which we liked but did not love. The seller was asking for something unreasonable that left us unprotected as first time homeowners. Shane could have advised us to close and he could have moved on with a quick sale. He did not and was adamant that the seller remove the clause and advised us properly. ZillowVERIFIED Shane is very knowledgeable about lots of areas in town. Although I was pretty sure where I wanted to look, I think there were times he suggested some where I wouldn't have initially thought. I was probably mostly impressed by how he also knows building codes. Several homes we looked at where he knew things to address with the seller and their agent, as they would be things that need to be fixed, or things we saw that were red flags and suggested we walk away from a house. After a reasonable amount of time "learning" about what I am looking for, I felt he was able to suggest properties. There was a period toward the end of the process where I had to reset my expectations on what I wanted, as I ended up buying a place that didn't have a basement, as that was something I had originally indicated as a "mandatory" feature.

I began working with Shane Vaughn after a positive referral from one of his associates, after I had been unsuccessful for months with previous process. At first meeting, I instantly felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. I had read other positive reviews, about the experience, about the awards, about the skill - but still prior to the first meeting, I was skeptical. I already had an idea where I wanted to look, and Shane immediately accommodated the viewings. He able to share the pros and cons of certain properties as data to consider. Because of his experience, he helped us re-imagine how spaces we thought wouldn't be usable. When he couldn't show us a property at the time we needed, he always made sure that he had a colleague help us (actually, we had the same colleague both times, who was just as wonderful as Shane!) So, we never had to suffer quality and skill.He was extremely responsive, although at times, I would get annoyed because I would send an email, receive a response back immediately, and didn't hear an update - immediately (I may be a little pushy - perhaps. :-) ) But, my next response was always - "DONE"!
