ZillowVERIFIED My wife and I visited Norfolk in November. We wanted to see East Beach, near the Bay. On a Saturday, we drove out to look around. The second open house we visited, we met Sarah. I'm in a similar business in WI and recognized right away that Sarah was a rising career professional. There is something about her calm personality that made it apparent she was a career professional. We wanted to work with an agent who likes and knows the contract and negotiation aspects of a real estate transaction. Sarah gave us what we needed to learn the price points and get familiar with the market. The day we arrived to look at houses, Sarah had a property she thought was a match for us. She was right. We made an offer that day (Sarah is a skilled contract drafter and negotiation advisor.) She knew we wanted our offer to be safe and attractive for the owner and not overloaded with unnecessary contingencies. Only agents who know how contingencies work for our against you can effectively craft a custom offer like we needed to be competitive. Sarah has that skill. Realtors have a unique challenge; they represent the client and must be fair to all parties. Don't underestimate the importance of your agent's ability in this area. Seeing situations from both sides and being respectful is an attribute she has. Sarah's a cool-headed, emotionally intelligent person. If you get the opportunity to have Sarah on either side of your transaction, you're going to feel respected and safe.
