ZillowVERIFIEDMy experience with Sam was extremely disappointing. The description of the home was completely inaccurate, which was confirmed during the home inspection. Several issues that were either omitted or misrepresented became apparent once the inspection was completed. When it came time to discuss repairs, communication with Sam was difficult. Rather than working toward a resolution, he was often unresponsive and avoided addressing legitimate concerns. I also discovered that documents provided regarding repairs had been falsified. I personally contacted the companies listed, and they confirmed the documents were not legitimate. When I confronted Sam with this information, he avoided the conversation instead of taking responsibility or providing an explanation. I don't know what experiences others have had, but based on mine, I cannot recommend working with him. I feel fortunate that I had an experienced realtor and loan officer looking out for my interests. Without their expertise and diligence, I may have ended up in a much worse situation. Given my experience, I genuinely do not understand how Sam is ranked among the top realtors in the nation. I hope future buyers do their due diligence and ensure they have knowledgeable professionals advocating for them throughout the process.

ZillowVERIFIED Sam was our realtor during a home building process in Powell, OH and he was excellent. We can't recommend him enough. Through deciding on home and lot options and navigating the entire build process, Sam was knowledgable about builders in the area, what options were useful or necessary versus not, and had a ton of insight into what decisions we made during the process would have the best outcome in the years to come. Sam was quick to respond to any questions and to review any paperwork or agreements from the builder. During final walkthroughs of the house, he was very focused and made sure to notice and indicate areas in the house that may need attention prior to closing, many of which we didn't notice ourselves when walking through. During closing, Sam made sure to answer any questions we had as first time homebuyers, and I felt like he was looking out for our best interest. Sam was courteous, helpful, and overall really great to work with. We would 100% recommend him as a realtor purchasing a new home.

I told him the price range I was comfortable with and the parts of town I was interested in. He gave my a list of homes that fit my specifications. Whenever I came across a home I was interested in checking out in-person, I would let him know and we would schedule a trip within a few days. He shared important information with me regarding the home buying process, the Columbus, OH housing market and things to look for while inspecting a house. After abut a month of being on the market, I put an offer down on a house. Sam recommended the bid amount, it ended up being the winning bid. Sam was always available to answer my questions. ZillowVERIFIED I'm not able to give a super in-depth review because I didn't have to work with Sam much at all. I found the property on my own, told him a price I was willing to accept, and he handled it from there. However, in the short time we worked together, he demonstrated that he is willing to work hard for his clients. He was always quick to respond via text or email and if he didn't know the answer, he'd get it quickly. As for the number of stars I gave him, here's the explanation: Local knowledge - He lives a bit out of town and hasn't dealt with clients in all areas of Columbus yet. Process expertise - He wasn't aware (or didn't correct me if he was) that since I was buying a condo in an owner-occupied community, I would not have the option of renting it out at some point. Negotiation skills - I'm sure he probably deserves higher than 3 stars but in my particular situation, he didn't handle any negotiating at all. Overall, you will be more than pleased if you decide to work with Sam during your next home search. He's a tremendously nice guy and will shoot you straight. And finally, as with any home-buying situation, shop around for a lender. Don't be so quick to accept the first one recommended by your agent.
