ZillowVERIFIED Robert represented us in our recent purchase of a rental property. He always made an effort to go above and beyond in his service. For example, our seller happened to hire a mediocre escrow company that made us send our utmost personal information via postal mail (our attempts to contact them via phone to request online secure document submission were never responded.) Robert drove almost 15 miles to hand deliver the mail to them to spare us from having to switch escrow company or risking identity theft (which already happened to us once.) Robert was knowledgeable and was very skillful in negotiation to get us stand-out in a multiple offer situation and to get the seller to repair all the items we requested. Overall, working with Robert was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely recommend him to family and friends.

ZillowVERIFIED In July of 2012 I was looking for a house to buy in Fountain Valley or Huntington Beach and after looking on-line at what was available on Zillow, I would list all the houses I was interested in seeing, spending hours looking and printing out the details only to find out that most of them were already in escrow or pending when Robert van der Goes would look them up on the multiple listing service that gave more detail. We went to look at the few on my list that were available and none appealed to me after inspecting them. Then he mentioned a house that had not gone on the market yet that he was handling for the sons of a deceased owner and I fell in love with the tree in front and the potential I could see in the house and it was in a lovely neighborhood in Fountain Valley--a cul de sac on a cul de sac. He handled the interests of both sides very skillfully, working out deals of price negotiation and an illegal, unpermitted roof and windows that were not up to code. I got my dream house that I was given a price reduction to be able to fix it up in the colors of paint and installation of carpet in my choice and the sellers did not have to put the $20,000 that they were going to pay to fix it up in a way that I would have wanted to change. Also, since the house was never listed, I did not have to worry that someone else would perhaps love the house like I had and get into a bidding war.

He is also understanding of the many different situations that can arise in through the process. I have yet to find the right house, but Robert continues to be responsive to all my inquires and keeps working hard to try and find me the right place. I would recommend him based on his honesty and responsiveness, however, I have not yet closed a deal so I cannot speak to that, but I expect that Robert will do an excellent job throughout the process.UPDATE:We finally closed on a house!!!! As I expected Robert did a great job negotiating for us. We ran in to a problem with the appraisal and Robert went above and beyond to negotiate a deal the worked for all parties and ended with a successful deal.After over a year and a half of looking I can say I truly recommend Robert. I was never in a hurry to buy a house and I wanted to find the perfect place. Robert never made me feel pressured to buy and we ended up finding that perfect place and he made sure the deal happened.If you are looking for someone you can trust and who is not going to force you into a deal that you are not satisfied with you will be happy with Robert as he is there for you, not just to make a quick deal and move on.
