About Paul Talbot
Jade and Paul met in Hawaii in 2012, Paul was a surfer and teacher who hadn't worn shoes in months. Jade was a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Azerbaijan 2009-2011), reintegrating back into a world with WIFI (and bathrooms) inside every home. Paul followed Jade to the East Coast and found another teaching job. He visited Jade each weekend in NYC, where she earned her Master's Degree from Columbia University. Shortly after finishing her studies, they packed up their Prius and headed to the Bay Area.
Paul quickly realized he was made to be a realtor and was named "Rookie of the Year" and a top-producing agent his first year in the game (2013). Jade continued working in the field of education, as a curriculum and assessment specialist for UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science, and then as a teacher and leader in OUSD's Newcomer program.
When they bought their first home in 2015, they got dirtier than they'd ever been and worked harder than they'd ever worked. Together, they sketched floor plans, demo-ed, designed, and built. Once finished with the majority of house projects, they were left with an enormous feeling of pride in the beautiful home they created...and also a newfound appreciation for a working stove and clean floors.
Throughout the years, Jade helped Paul prepare buyer guides and listing presentations, but his dream came true when she decided she was ready to join him in real estate. Together, they founded Talbot Team, with the goal of helping families make real estate moves. Paul and Jade have lived in Berkeley and Oakland, but currently live in San Leandro with their two boys. Their second home was a semi-fixer, but they continue to find projects, big and little, to constantly improve the functionality and increase the value of their home. Both Paul and Jade love providing (free) consultations to anyone interested in making upgrades to their homes.
