Missy help facilitate our new construction build, helped negotiate the cost with the builder and kept on top of them to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the completed work. After building our dream house Missy then helped us sell our townhouse that she originally helped us purchase back in 2009. She put us in contact with contractors to get the townhouse show ready, staged for pictures and had it sold in less than 12 hours for $10K over list price. She stayed in contact and responded quickly to my calls and text messages. She was also very in tune with what this sellers market was going to demand of me if I wanted to have a chance at winning a bid on a house, and she explained those demands to me so that I understood them and was prepared to meet them. Theres a lot of paperwork and forms involved in bidding on and buying a house. Missy explained it all and made sure I followed through on every signature and decision. Based on the amount of paperwork and process needed to bid on and buy a house, and the disparity between what many houses look like online and what they actually look like in person, my first home-buying experience led me to this conclusion: you need somebody willing to show you every house in person, and you need somebody to manage the process. ZillowVERIFIED We interviewed Missy to sell my parents' home. She didn't tell us in advance of the interview that she works both for the buyer and the seller. She asked me if she could bring her staff that stages houses to our interview to which we agreed. However, in advance of her showing up at our house, some of her "staff" arrived. They turned out not to be responsible for staging but were actually buyers looking to get a bargain. When Missy arrived, she immediately met with the "buyer" before even speaking with us and returned to us beginning our interview by telling us that we should sell our house to them for $100,000 less than we ultimately were able to sell for (with another agent). While working for both the buyer and seller is legal in Virginia, I consider her behavior in sending a buyer to our house before we even met her to be absolutely unethical especially because she lied about who would be accompanying her and because she didn't reveal that she would be working for the buyer to our great disadvantage. Clearly, it was more important to her that she satisfy the buyer by getting him a great bargain because they have an ongoing relationship. She didn't give a rip about our needs or rights as the sellers. She just wanted to provide a quick and easy stream of properties to her buyer that flips houses.Missy was even so unprofessional as to demand to know who else we were interviewing and when we wouldn't share that information, she began to run down other agents by name belittling them both personally and professionally. We ultimately hired the agent that Missy belittled the most and had an amazing and positive experience as that agent was personable, professional, and always positive and helpful.After her buyer departed, she then proceeded to to point out everything she perceived to be wrong with the house belittling my parents in the process. Her comments were derogatory and demeaning as well as unprofessional and insulting. Her parting words to us were that we could go ahead and list with a different agent but that in six months we'd be crawling back to her begging for her help to sell our house. And, we weren't selling a shack. We were selling a half a million dollar home on over three acres of land in a prestigious neighborhood that is in high demand. Our house sold quickly and for a fair price without her "help". I'm not easily made to cry, but I cried for a half an hour after she left our house. She's not a top agent because she's popular with sellers. She's a top agent because she works both sides to the advantage of the buyer. Don't be fooled into working with her if you're a seller.Trust me, I've rarely had a worse experience with a so-called professional. If I were you, I wouldn't even bother to consider her as your agent because I guarantee that she will only be working to quick sale your home, grab a commission she didn't work to earn and run to her million dollar agent club.

Missy and her team made the out of state purchase easy for us, she came to the home inspection and we did everything but the closing on-line. It was fantastic. We love our house and neighborhood. If and when we decide to move we'll be using Missy again. :)
