Being first time home buyers in a new city, during a tough housing market and tech wide layoffs is a scary thing but Merna closely supported us at every step of the way and made the process seamless. She really took the time to educate us about the Seattle housing market and the buying process. Even when she was on vacation, she would still be answering our messages and checking up on us (even though we told her to enjoy her vacation). During our first meeting, we discussed our requirements with Merna and her team. For several weekends afterwards, Madi Nendick, Merna's assistant broker, took us our on many home tours. We checked out different neighborhoods until we narrowed down what we really wanted. Madi was extremely organized and would always go the extra mile to make anything fit in our busy schedules. Once we found the one and had a contract package in hand, Merna went through EVERY single page of this 40 page document with us to make sure we understood every single detail that we were signing on. After we signed, Merna and her team took care of everything from there: scheduling home inspection, signing meetings, money transfer, key pickup and walk-through appointments, etc. We just had to go where they told us to. Merna was also present during the home walkthrough and made sure that the builder fixed every tiny scuff in the home. She has an amazing eye for detail. To put the cherry on top, Merna and her team would mail us little treats in the mail (fancy candy, home design books, gift cards, movie night treats, etc) to make the home buying process more fun which we really appreciated.

ZillowVERIFIED After living in the same home and raising 5 kids we decided to move to another city. We knew there was no way we could live in the home while selling it with all the work that needed done, but how could we afford to buy the new home, move, and remodel the old home and sell it and not break the bank. We talked with several agents including a longtime friend. We left those conversations disillusioned and disheartened about the prospects. Those agents left us with huge estimates of work to be done, uncertainty over the price and no real plan to accomplish it. I talked to a friend in passing about our situation and he recommended Merna. Merna had done a great job for him selling his place in a similar fashion, and told me she had great design skills and knew lots of people who knew how to get work done, and done well, and on budget. When Merna met with us it was like hope sprung up in my heart. She had a plan and a system for how to prepare and market our home. If we were willing to do it the way she asked she could guide us thru the process and get a quick sale for far more than we imagined. It almost seemed to good to be true, but with my friends experience doing the same thing with her, I was willing to trust her. Merna put together a plan on what we needed to do and when. She got us in touch with contractors and helped us plan how to use our budget. She would check on progress and monitor things and update the plan as needed to adapt to setbacks or challenge. She got us in a program to defer some of the constitution cost until closing so we could make the house perfect. When the final push came, she gave us the tough love to keep us on track for the target listing date. She bought in her trouble-shooters to fix all the issues, inspect the home, and have issues addressed before we went to market, to avoid contingency issues. When the time came for us to list her staging was beyond amazing and the photos really made the house desirable and captured it in a way that both brought people in, but also did not set false expectations. We listed on a Friday with a Monday review date. Got multiple offers and sold the house for more than 20% over the listing price. Merna acted with only the highest professional ethics and integrity thru the whole process. She did not just tell us what we wanted to hear, she told us what we needed to hear. By following her plan we were not disappointed. Merna did not work miracles, she engineered reliable results. That is a much better thing.

She is honest and does not settle for mediocre deals. Either she will work with you to obtain the most valuable deal your money can buy, or she will advise to wait for a better opportunity. She has a perfect insight for market value. She makes the experience of buying a property so smooth and enjoyable, my wife was disappointed when it came to an end. Merna is very patient. She is always available and will work around your schedule (and this is coming from a physician who works in 4 clinics and an ER). She responds to ANY question with such grace and knowledge. She has the expertise not only to find you the right house, but also envisions how the house will fit your needs and specification. She does not want to sell a house; rather she strives to sell a home which value has no where to go but upwards. When it comes to negotiation, she is truly talented.
