After interviewing several agents, we then sat down with Melisa & Simon Yeo. Wow!!!!......What a difference! It didnt take long for us to know that we had definitely found our partners. They came to our meeting totally prepared and were extremely professional & detailed. We also discovered that Melisa & Simon were very compatible with us in many ways. We quickly decided that we would enter into a sales contact with Melisa & Simon. Boy did they hit the ground running! Melisa quickly went to work on a very detailed plan to stage our home in order to appeal to her targeted market. Because we wanted to sell our home as quickly as possible, Melisa understood how to accomplish this task in short order. Melisa employs her own handyman, an awesome guy named Larry. He started taking down pictures and other items on each wall, patching holes and doing all of the touch up painting. She had him paint several accent walls with a modern color that really upgraded the look and feel throughout the house. He even helped with removing much of our furniture & boxes to the garage. Melisa also purchased many items, including 2 recliners for us to use, and provided ALL of the staging furniture and accessories from her large inventory. She did all of the above without charging any fees for this service (which ALL of the other agents required). After all of the hard work Melisa put in on our house and her highly intensive marketing and sales preparation, she showed our house for 2 days before offers were made and the payoff came with an accepted offer in just 6 days!!! Talk about meeting expectationsaEUR|..Melisa delivered in the most awesome manner possible. We quickly realized that we then had to find a new place to make our home aEUR" and quickly. Again, Melisa came to the rescue by quickly changing gears into the process of finding us a new home. She gained a thorough understanding of what we were looking and quickly narrowed down possible houses. Since our want list was extensive and the home inventory sparse, we werent convinced that she could pull this task off as easily as she did in selling our home. WRONG!!!! After showing use several houses and further refining our wish list criteria, Melisa hit another home run. She was actually able to find us our new DREAM home that was located just a block from our grandchildren. After just a week on the market our dream home had multiple offers including one from a cash buyer. Melisa just took this in stride and worked with us to develop a comprehensive offer package. After she submitted our offer package we were soon notified that we had made it down to be 1 of 2 offers the sellers were going to choose from. Now we had to get financing finalized since we were going into a shortened escrow. Simon worked with us to gain a loan pre-approval that also helped greatly in being selected by the seller to buy their home. He then worked diligently to secure final loan funding that met our needs. The entire process was seamlessly handled with most transactions done from the comfort of our home. Melisa also helped us enlist the help of a very competent & affordable mover. She also recommended, since we have a 3 month move in delay, that we use a pod service to pack and store our belongings. I met Simon at an open house for a home and he was extremely helpful with providing useful info regarding financing. Me and my husband were surprised that he was not being pushy or over aggressive with getting us to buy from him. When we were finally ready to start looking at homes, we met with Melisa. She was so thorough when asking what we were looking for and she offered tons of resources to find us our home. She went through every detail of what we wanted and got to know us and our individual styles rather than just pushing houses on us. I was very skeptical at first thinking that home buying can't be that easy: talk to a realtor and get a home. I was expecting to take months and having to settle on what we could afford rather than what we really wanted. It was only a few days later that Melisa called with a listing and we fell in love. Once we started escrow, she was in constant contact with us to walk us through the process and explain every single form. It can be extremely overwhelming signing all those forms but with Melisa's help, I felt like I really knew what I was signing and felt way more comfortable with the process. I have met and dealt with lots of agents before but Melisa and her team was very professional, knowledge, and experienced in every way. They have extensive knowledge in Fullerton and Brea area. With Melisa, you get the feel that she really cares for you and your family and she is not one of those saleman that just want your business. She fully supports your thoughts and offers; even the cheap, lowest bidder like me. She is very patient and understanding - not a typical agent type yet very professional. She knows how to approach the other party which is a plus! She will tell you all about the city such as where to avoid, where to buy, which daycares are good, restaurants are good, and so on.. Anyway, long story short. I would not use anyone else other than Melisa and her team. Our kids love her and we really liked working with her. I only knew that the interest rate is the lowest in the history, and that the market is rapidly recovering. I knew I wanted to take advantage of the current situation and buy a house, but I did not know who to go to to make it happen. I started out by searching houses online day and night. It took me couple of months to finally determine what area I wanted to settled down, and it took me over a year to find the right person to help me make it happen. I have read many online reviews of realtors in OC, emailed a bunch, talked to a few, but only met up with a handful. I had a few recommendations from my family members and coworkers, but it was very difficult to find that one right person who I felt that I could trust. After a long extensive search, it was only natural for me to have my guards up when I first met Melisa. I emailed her a few times beforehand, and I liked her prompt response. I had a feeling that she could be the one, but I was not 100% sure, until I met her in person. She drove me around on a Saturday afternoon and showed me a few houses. It was then that I realized I have finally found that one right person to represent me as my realtor. What distinguished her from other realtors is that she was not afraid to tell me what areas to avoid because of the land contamination. I personally read the EPA reports regarding Irvine and Fullerton, so I expected all the realtors in those areas to at least know about the contamination, but surprisingly Melisa was the first person to actually talk about it. Most realtors are too focused on architectures, communities, and school districts. They will tell you all the positive things about the property, but they will never tell you anything negative. When Melisa told me which area I needed to be cautious, I knew right then that I could trust her because I felt that she has my best interest, and that she genuinely cares about me. As the conversation continues, I discovered that her husband, Simon is a mortgage officer and she herself used to work in the industry before she became a realtor. If you are following the news, you should know that it has been a tough market for buyers. According to a recent survey done by Redfin, 83% of current home owners believe that they would get a higher price by waiting one to two years. In other words, only 17% are willing to put their homes on the current market for sell. Considering how low the current interest rate is, it is no rocket science for one to figure out how competitive the market is. I had my fair shares of defeats, but I can honestly say that if it were not for Melisa and Simon, I would not have had a chance to finally become a homeowner.
