The stress related to the prospect of attempting to find new renters or sell a house while living overseas was immense...until I was introduced to Melanie. Within an hour of receiving my email and learning of my situation, she was on the phone with me, scheduled a visit to the house, and had a plan of action by the next day. Three models of my home would be on the market at the same time in my subdivision, so Melanie's plan involved finding a way to differentiate mine from the others. With pretty minor improvements and repairs, she prepared the house for listing. The end result: an exceptional offer on the day of listing, while one of the other houses remained on the market for the next month (the other had closed just before my house was listed). ZillowVERIFIED First off, she's out of Granite Bay and trying to sell my home in Rosemont.My listing agreement was casually slipped into our meet and greet as "just some papers we have to sign so we can work together". I was not left with a copy of the contract or any paperwork to review, nor was it presented to me as such a contract. I did not receive a copy of the contract until more than 48 hours later only AFTER I requested to cancel the agreement to re-evaluate options and possibly stay in my home or rent, at which point she refused to sign the cancellation form, even though my home had not been listed or shown AND I offered to pay for her time when we met. Even after I told Melanie I did not wish to work with her anymore, she showed up at my private residence UNANNOUNCED to drop off paperwork and talk face-to-face (I was not home; she left a voicemail).When my agent, Melanie Webb, refused to cancel the contract I called her broker, Fran Dixon three consecutive days, (who she would not give me the information for) and e-mailed him multiple times. It took Fran SIX DAYS to respond to my complaint about Melanie Webb, at which he replied via e-mail that Melanie stated their position and basically will not cancel my contract. She also failed to mention in person that our listing agreement was for SIX MONTHS. I had signed the page on this, but she had said "these are all just standard things" without even mentioning this period.I would NOT recommend Melanie Webb or her affiliated company, Ellington Properties, to anyone.

ZillowVERIFIED Initially, when we met with Mel we didn't have a lender. She was able to recommend someone great (due to her connections and years in the business) that was responsive, helpful, and found the best loan for us. During the process of looking at houses she encouraged us to keep looking at however many houses we wanted with no feeling of pressure to make an offer or settle. I've heard experiences about pushy real estate agents trying to get the sale done for their payday and not focusing on good customer service to their client. I NEVER got this impression or uncomfortable feeling from Mel. Once we decided to make the offer, she advised us on what dealing with a bank owned property would be like and everything she said was true. I was very impressed with her knowledge of what to expect during escrow! On the day of closing she was on the phone all morning with the lender and title company making sure that it happened right before a holiday weekend. It was great to close on time because we were so excited to move in! After the loan had closed we were still having some problems that needed to be resolved with the selling agent (their fault, not Mel's). I was relieved that even after we closed she was regularly on the phone and e-mailing the selling agent (who had a bit of an attitude), in a professional, resolved way! She didn't lose interest even after the transaction was final! Mel is a wonderful real estate agent and I recommend her to anyone I know selling or buying a house! She kept the process as worry free as possible and if I sell my house and by another I will definitely work with her again!
