Our list price was what Matt recommended which was on the high end of my own estimates. He did a great job getting foot traffic in as soon as it was listed resulting in 4 days on the market and an offer over our list price :) From then on everything went to schedule. We closed on the date we set without delay and because we were buying at the same time I actually forgot the closing on our sale happened. That's how smooth Matt made it.We did run into complications on the buy side (seller's lawyer... No comment) and Matt was always immediately available to deal with matters that required immediate attention as a result of that.I could write a much longer review with nothing but praise. ZillowVERIFIED Seriously, use Matt Liss as your realtor. By reading all the 5-star reviews, I don't think that I have to elaborate on Matt's willingness to educate first time buyers, excellent communication and listening skills, straight forward approach, and responsiveness (I honestly was concerned something may have happened to him one time when he had not responded to my email in less than 20 minutes). I can confirm for you that all of those are true. ?What stood out to us the most about Matt is that he truly cares that you end up with a place that you will love over the long haul. He listened to what we wanted and didn't let us back away from our most important must haves. While I witnessed other realtors attempting to convince their clients to buy a place, Matt actually talked us OUT of putting an offer on at least 3 places. Who does that? He could have easily taken the commission and walked. Instead, we found a place that surpassed our expectations. Moreover, Matt did an excellent job with our negotiations (saving us thousands even when we were ready to accept a counteroffer) and made sure contractual obligations were completed and up to his standards before we closed. Matt has continued to be a valuable resource for advice and recommendations after the close. If you are in the market to buy or sell, then your first mistake is that you haven't called him yet. Fix that.

ZillowVERIFIED My husband and I found Matt Liss via Yelp. We were looking to sell our condo (quickly, as we were relocating), and he was the first and only real estate agent we interviewed. Normally, I like to research multiple options before making a decision to work with someone, but we were so impressed with Matt right off the bat that we went ahead and signed to work with him on the spot. It was such a great decision. Throughout the sale process, Matt did an excellent job communicating with us and keeping us calm. Real estate can be an emotional thing, and Matt helped talk us off a ledge on a couple of occasions! He is so experienced and knowledgeable about what he does, he was able to easily reassure us when we were uncertain about the process. Matt also was a fantastic liaison between us and the buyer's agent and our attorney. He always keep us informed, and was very responsive to any questions we had. He responded to texts within minutes and never left us hanging. Matt was very knowledgeable about Chicago real estate as well. This served us well in that he helped us price our home appropriately and negotiate. He was also sensitive to our sense of urgency. Once we got started, he worked to get all the marketing materials in place fast so we could get on the market immediately. ?We sold our home in 7 days and closed 6 weeks later. I don't think we could have even hoped it would be that easy! All this is to say that Matt is a reliable, informed and experienced agent and we can't recommend him highly enough!

This experience has FAR exceeded my expectation. Matt is honest, patient, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable. I consider myself extremely efficient, but Matt gives me a run for the money. When I text/ email him, I ALWAYS get a response in less than 1 minute. I am ALWAYS well informed throughout the process. We have dealt with many realtors and none of them has half of Matt's level of efficiency. I appreciate his frankness and wholeheartedly respect his opinions. He looks out for his client's best interest and fights hard for you. He does not hesitate to voice his opinion when he thinks a deal is a sham. ?With Matt's help, we negotiated a sweet price on a fantastic home. His service did not abruptly stop after the closing. One day after closing, I realized the garage remotes were not working and I texted Matt and see if he had any suggestions. He physically stopped by to help me resolve the problem. ZillowVERIFIED We were given a raving recommendation for Matt Liss back in 2012 from a friend who had just purchased his first home with Matt's help. We decided to work with him after having meaningful and educational conversations on the home buying process and different areas of the city. Over a period of time we saw a handful of properties with him, and if for some reason he wasn't available he made sure he had a trusted associate help us out so that we could see it on our schedule. We, being extremely picky, having many requirements(some unrealistic), and being in a fast market, found the home we loved this summer. Matt took us to the finish line and was available to us whenever we needed him. What stood out to us during our time working with Matt was that he gave honest opinions and was patient with us. ZillowVERIFIED Matt was referred to me from a friend, who also used him as a result of a referral from a co-worker. My situation was a little unique given that we were selling a house and a full lot side yard with separate tax IDs. I was concerned about our ability to sell both given that my previous experience was that no lender would provide a mortgage on land that wasnt being developed. Matt did extensive research and found a lender that would in fact provide a mortgage. In preparing for the sale, Matt also stressed the importance of staging and freshening up the house with new paint (house was 10 years old) aEUR" he was right, it showed WAY better and was worth the minimal cost and hassle. The house and yard were listed on a Wed, he held an open house on Sat and within days we had several offers. Matts guidance in evaluating and negotiating the offers was incredibly helpful. But more importantly, Matt was instrumental in making sure the deal closed aEUR" which wasnt without its speed bumps... MAJOR speed bumps. It required constant and diligent follow up throughout all stages and aspects of the sale. If it were not for Matt, this process would have been a disaster and probably wouldnt have ever closed. Matt is incredibly responsive, he cares, hes a true advisor and went well beyond the call of duty to make this happen for me. I would HIGHLY recommend Matt to anyone contemplating a real estate transaction and think that youd be crazy to even consider using anyone else.
