My husband and I decided that we were tired of renting and wanted to look at our options to buy a starter home. We were written off by many other real estate agents, but Matt took us seriously from the start. During our interview, we instantly knew we wanted to work with Matt as he listened to us both, respected our opinions, and answered all questions no matter how small. As first time buyers we had no idea what we wanted or what we were getting ourselves into. Matt educated us on the real estate process, gave guidance with the loan process, and narrowed down our wants in a home into the perfect condo unit. We fell in love with one unit and Matt did the hard work of investigating the disclosure information. Matt was able to help us regroup and fall in love with another unit in an even better location for us. While we were nervous when we submitted the offer, Matt was able to negotiate with the other agent into a fair deal. Closing was a breeze thanks to Matts reassurance and watchful eye. I interviewed 3 agents, all experienced in the area my house was in, and Matt Cossell was the realtor that had the best plan already laying out a plan as we talked on what it would take to get ready and put on the market. He got quotes for the few things needed to get ready and helped to see through as I had already moved out of the area. He suggested the highest price to list, and the offer came in over the asking price. He gave me a timeline of what he thought it should take to get ready, show property on 2 weekends and there was an offer made after 2nd weekend, which I accepted and closed in 30 days. I would use Matt again, and recommend to friends and family.

ZillowVERIFIED Our relationship with Matt goes a long way and so a long review alert! We first met him at an open house for the property we were looking to buy for which he was the listing agent. He was extremely friendly and provided us with very good information that helped us (first time buyers then) decide if we wanted to place an offer for the house... And we did! The house had been completely torn down and rebuilt. We could see the attention to detail with every component used in the house and the hardwork that went in. The house like any other in the bay area had several offers but our agent told us how Matt thought our family would be perfect for the house and neighborhood and despite cash down offers, he chose to go with us. Then came the time when we wanted to sell the house and we initially decided to go with the buyer's agent we used the first time. After a few conversations, we didnt quite like the marketing/selling strategy. This was most likely because we saw such a great job done by Matt and his team the first time we saw the house. We even tried talking to a few other agents. Later, we looked up his contact information and got in touch with him. Before our first meeting, we saw a package at our front door with material introducing himself, his list of recent sales, etc. It was really impressive that he had taken the time to stop by and drop it off so we can go through it before we met. At our first meeting he went through his strategy, how he works, what he thinks of the current market and how our house fits into it. It was so refreshing talking to him after all the other agents we had interacted with. He suggested some minor work that would help with the resale value of the house. With the suggestions the house did actually sell for much more than we had imagined and brought up the value of the entire area! It also gave us more buying power towards our next home. I believe the entire process took just about 2-3 weeks from the time we met him that the house was sold. He has a great team and he knows what it takes to get the best buyers to see the house. We knew Matt is a great seller's agent but had no idea he is so good at being a buyer's agent as well. When we were selling the house he was aware that we might go with another agent to buy the next one but I never saw that come in the way on how well he did with the sale of the house. The relationship we built inclined us to go with him for buying as well eventually. Despite being super busy, he was always available to come see houses with us. When we finally decided to place an offer for a house, he told us what value he thought was good but never pushed us towards something we were not comfortable with. We really liked this one house we thought was out of our budget, but he built such a good rapport with the listing agent that they agreed to consider our offer amongst several others and we ended buying our dream home! Matt is a very experienced agent with great knowledge of the market. There are very few people who love the work they do so much and he is definitely one of them.

He is professional, passionate, most importantly, he caresaEUR| Our first house purchase in Silicon Valley was not a easy one. The house took three months from offer got accepted to close because of some special situation on the property. I would imagine most of the agents would give up but Matt stood with us during the hard times. This is a long story, but here is short version: Originally we got approved with a big bank, then they found out the house has some issues and refuse to finance for us after we are already in contract. Matt learned the situation and immediately referred another bank to us which eventually worked out. This involves multiple negotiation with the seller to extend the contract. We also need a contractor who will need to provide lots of paperwork to the bank. Several contractors disappeared after learned the case. Matt talked with us and recommended a contractor who is one of his friend to us and the contractor is excellent. Even after our house is closed, Matt is still helping us with getting the keys from previous owner while we were traveling abroad. The list goes on and on.. Matt did most agents in the bay area wont do and beyond that, he taught us a lot of philosophy of life. We feel so lucky we met Matt and chose him as our agent. Buying the first house in Bay area isnt easy and fun, but Matt made us feel much warmer. He can take care of everything :) I would recommend him to anyone who wants to buy a property in the bay area.

ZillowVERIFIED The first two realtors I used were very bad and it seemed to back the stereotypes I had heard of (even though they were referred). But Matt was the exact opposite. He was referred to me by a friend. He represented my sole interests as the buyer. He did not push any properties on me. Rather he worked with the preferences I had. He made it clear up front that protecting my buyer deposit was the most important thing for him. After knowing my preferences, he setup a customized MLS search for me. After a day or two, I knew exactly what I wanted. He took me on a tour of about six properties. I loved one at first sight. It was a highly desirable condo in a highly desirable zip code. I asked him, "Do we have any chance getting this property because people online say cash buyers rule the market?" He told me not to worry about what people online say. I don't know what he did behind the scenes. But my offer, which was only 2.5% above asking, was accepted. It was my very first offer! But he did not stop there. He worked closely behind the scenes with my lender and the title company so that things did not fall apart. I closed in 16 days and Matt came to my new home to give me the keys and show me around. Matt made sure I got to keep the pretty new washer/dryer and a free one year home warranty. I recommend Matt without reservations.
