When I'm not working with clients, you can usually find me out exploring new restaurants and enjoying time with my family. I love playing my Taylor 410 acoustic guitar, whether it's unwinding at the end of the day or learning a new song. In the winter, snowboarding is my go-to escape, and when I can, I'm always excited to travel and experience new places. These hobbies keep me inspired, energized, and ready to bring my best to my work.

FAMILY

Outside of real estate, life revolves around my two daughters, ages 6 and 8, who keep us more than busy. We also have a dog named Koda (Shephard mix), who's a big part of our everyday life. As a family, we love trying out new restaurants around town and discovering local favorites. They're the heart of what keeps me motivated every day.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Marcus. From day one, he made us feel taken care of and truly understood what we were looking for. He was patient, honest, incredibly responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile (even showing us one more house at the end of a long day of viewing homes - that turned out to be THE house!). What could have been a stressful experience felt calm and manageable because of his guidance. He even literally helped us move furniture into our new home as well. I lost my sister and live out of state, so it was crucial that I have a realtor that understood my situation and was willing to go over and above in the sale of my property. Marcus did that. He was very compassionaite to my situation and made sure that I was informed and comfortable with everything that was going on. He educated me on the real estate market in that area and made sure that I got the best offer possible. There was never a time that he was unavailable. Should I hire an agent willing to work for 1% commission?

Hi Sally, You may find a very ambitious 1% listing agent that offers a lot, but typically agents who only charge 1% aren't going to offer a comprehensive marketing strategy that other agents who are charging more would. Effectively marketing a home, and giving the listing the attention it deserves, requires time and money. At 1%, I cant image there being much room for a marketing budget or time commitment. In short - from my experiences, the answer is no.

How should I prepare my house before selling it?

I create a thorough break down of recommendations for my clients based on their specific home goals, and available time/money. BUT, for simplicity sake.. 1) Make sure your home is CLEAN. Nothing makes a home feel unmaintained more than it simply not being clean. Even if the property has issues, a clean home will give the perception of more value. 2) I think landscaping is undervalued by many sellers. Spruce it up. Nothing major, but make sure weeds are handled, bring in fresh gravel/mulch/etc., maybe plant a couple flowers. 3) Correct any maintenance issues that may be eye soars or that may deter buyers. 4) Consider staging. Sometimes a list agent will cover some of the costs depending on your price range. Staging has proven time and time again to sell homes quick and for more $. Good luck!
