Malcolm was completely AMAZING. He listened to what my husband and I were looking for in our forever home and made sure that was exactly what we got. Malcolm is kind and always has time to answer any of your questions. It was so refreshing to find someone who was not pushing us to buy just any house. He helped us find THE house. I have referred my family and friends to Malcolm.
Malcolm definitely represents the experienced end of the realtor spectrum. He knew to tell us about issues with financing for our specific case, and local best practices and pitfalls.
What can I say to convey just how good Malcolm was to me. I purchased a home in Yelm, WA while living in a different state. Malcolm probably checked out 60 listings for me and personally went to at least 20 homes. He often had to drive 30 miles. He always kept me informed and ensured I got into a home with no repairs needed. It is obvious when you work with him that his reputation is more important than a quick dollar.
Our experience buying house with Malcolm was pleasant. We had very specific expectations for the house we were looking for and Malcolm was very good in making us feel that we will find exactly what we want sooner or later. He was very helpful and patient answering our questions and solving problems. We sincerely recommend Malcolm Maughan as a great real estate agent.
I would like to thank Malcolm Maughan for his incredible patience with my husband and I. We were first-time homebuyers with very little knowledge about how to find the right place. Malcolm worked with us for over two years looking for the right place. Malcolm was very honest and upfront on any questions we had. He went above and beyond to help us find the right house and walked us through every step of the closing process making it stress-free! We highly recommend Malcolm and his wife Rosemary to anyone looking to buy or sell a home!
Malcolm helped me navigate a very complicated short sale process on an investment home I owned. He provided me with excellent advice in every step of the process and was relentless in working with both mortgages companies as well as the buyer. I am very grateful for Malcolm's assistance in this process.
I had the best experience working with Malcolm, as he went out of his way to make sure my home search and purchasing process went without a hitch! He is very knowledgeable and patient!!! He is never without suggestions or advice, which I greatly appreciate! Thank you, Malcolm!
Malcolm has been very helpful from the beginning of home searching process to signing paperwork and making sure all the necessary steps of acquiring a home have been taken. He is always there when you have questions on when you need a recommendation on anything to make a decision on purchasing the right home. Very pleasant agent to work with. I will recommend Malcolm to any person who needs to search and purchase a home especially first time home owners like myself.
Malcolm helped on a long journey of buying a second house back here in Washington. He was also very helpful when our financing fell through days before closing. Malcolm and his amazing wife Rosemary make an amazing team.
Malcolm was an asset when looking for our home to purchase. He wasn't concerned with selling us any house. He was just as focused on helping us to find the right house for us as we were. He looked at countless houses with us. He educated us on characteristics of homes in the Pacific Northwest, as we are from the East coast. Malcolm is knowledgeable, made himself available to answer questions via phone, text, and email, and even checked in with us to see how our move went. He went above and beyond, getting to know us as more than clients, but as people. We feel like he truly cared about us.
I live in another state and Malcolm helped me to purchase the house in WA. He was always in close contact with me and patiently followed through on all my requests. He was very knowledgeable and was answering my questions honestly which made me comfortable with the entire process.I highly recommend Malcolm!
Malcolm worked with us to help us find the perfect home for us when it came to location, features, size, and price! He showed us houses from Aberdeen to Olympia, and never hesitated to meet us at one of the MANY places we looked at. Working together for a few months (we put offers in on 3 houses that didn't work out), we were able to find a great home and I couldn't be happier! Despite his multiple deals in the works, he made it a point make time for US! A good friend did our inspection for us and said that Malcolm was by FAR the best agent that he had ever met! I would not hesitate to recommend him in the future.
MALCOLM GAVE AND CONTINUES TO GIVE US OUTSTANDING SERVICE. HE WORKED THRU 2 HOLIDAY PERIODS AND TOOK VALUABLE TIME AWAY FROM HIS FAMILY TO SHEPHERD OUR OFFER AND BUY TO THE CLOSING. AFTER THE CLOSE HE CONTINUES TO FOLLOW-UP ON SEVERAL ITEMS OF CONCERN AND REPAIR WITH THE LISTING AGENT. WE WILL LIKELY SOON LIST OUR ORIGINAL HOME FOR SALE. REGARDS TOM AND VICKI JOHNSON
Malcom Maughan has been better than I could have imagined. As a new potential home owner, I had no idea what actually was involved in purchasing/ owning a home. Malcolm and his wife Rosemary, helped me every step of the way, from simple questions of homeowning when we started, to actually having Malcolm help me fix my garage doors after I was a homeowner. I was even able to call them on the weekends and very late at night if I ever had a concern that I wanted to address. He has always answered every question and concern, even if it had me walk away or turn away from a potential deal and fought hard to get my earnest money back from a property I decided not to purchase. I consider him and his wife family friends, and will only use them in the future if I ever decide to sell my house or purchase a new one.
Malcolm treated me well during my search for a new home. He knows all the best fishing places too! During the purchase process Malcolm was diligent about maintaining contact and keeping me apprised of every situation and every possibility of what might happen with a bank-owned home purchase. There were no surprises except that the sale went through quickly and relatively painlessly, something that rarely happens with bank-owned properties. I'm glad I had Malcolm on my side when it came time to buy.
Malcolm has helped us buy and sell 4 houses. He is gets the job done quickly and professionally. Malcolm has sold everyone of our houses within 3 months of putting them on the market. He is open and honest and does what it take to get the job done. Thank you Malcolm for your many year of dedicated service.
Malcolm was recommended to me by a friend and I now recommend him to anyone I know that may need the services of a realtor. Malcolm has put together four transactions for my wife and I to date and he will be the one to put the next deal together when I need it. He has worked hard on each of transactions and each one required slightly different marketing and negotiation tactics. Malcolm is well skilled and was able to handle these transactions in changing market conditions.
We thought Malcolm did a great job helping us find the right property and guiding us through the loan process, etc. He was very attentive, always answered his phone or returned phone calls immediately. He never tired of showing us homes in Oly area. I referred two friends to him who also purchased homes through him. Highly recommend!!
Malcolm helped us with our first home purchase, and was helpful and patient when we had a tendency to be indecisive. We couldn't be happier with our house, but are now considering upgrading to something a bit larger, and are going with Malcolm again.
Malcolm helped me buy a property a few years ago. The exercise was time-consuming because I wanted an oversized lot and because once I found a property, I decided I needed a HUD 203(k) rehabilitation loan that resulted in some extra legwork to satisfy the lender. When the home inspection revealed some water damage, he made a good suggestion for re-negotiation of the purchase price. Throughout, Malcolm went out of his way to be helpful, answering every question I had about the process and offering good advice and management of the purchase negotiations.
Malcolm has stellar integrity and a great sense of humor. As a retired U. S. Marine of twenty-four years these are two qualities I look for prior to doing business with anyone. If I do not scene both these qualities in a person within the first forty-five seconds of meeting with them there will be no future transaction(s). Malcolm has each of these qualities and more! He helped me to feel at ease with the whole process of not just searching for the right house for me, but finding the right home for me, and we even developed a friendship a long the way. It's more than business with Malcolm, it is about people and meeting their needs. He is genuine in every scene of the word and I continually recommend him to anyone looking to find a home not just a house.Kevin L. CraigMSgt., USMC (RET.)
Malcolm has found two properties for me and is the only real estate agent I would contact for either buying or selling! I really ran Malcolm all over the county and we wrote many offers; his perseverance can't be beat!
*This review applies specifically to MALCOLM MAUGHAN (Realtor/Managing Broker) : 360-791-6006*My husband and I first contacted Malcolm when we received PCS orders for Joint Base Lewis-McChord from Fort Hood, TX. He had a property listed on craigslist (a personal listing for rent) that we were interested in. After describing our situation (we were embarking on our last duty station and looking to adopt dogs, making an apartment unfeasible and requiring the space of a single-family home), Malcolm suggested we consider purchasing a home (we had no intention of leaving Washing after separating from the Army, we had great credit ratings, low debt:credit ratios, and some cash on hand). We were very young and had never considered purchasing a home, but after Malcolm took the time to lay our options out for us, it made perfect sense. A no-brainer. Malcolm began by sending us listings that fit our very general requirements. After sifting through the obvious NOs, Malcolm drove here and there visiting various homes while we were still in Texas to send us a slew of additonal pictures. He was never pushy, never rushed us, and took the time to understand our needs and desires. At times my husband and I felt overwhelmed with the house-hunting process, but Malcolm's patience combined with his knowledge and experience completely put us at ease. Had we been in the hands of anybody else during this entire process it is very possible we could have ended up with a home that was all wrong for us. He talked us out of a dream home that had failing siding that was not installed to code that could have cost us tens of thousands in damages (his prior career was in civil engineering; that edge was worth its weight in gold). He talked us out of a quaint, fantastical cottage on a green belt after warning us of its resale/rental potential (not good). He taught me how to put on my poker face while viewing a home with the owner present (a negotiation tactic that could have ended in the seller's favor... Oops!) By the time we finally made it to Washington Malcolm had nailed down a solid handful of serious contenders. In the end, we purchased a newer home (which Malcolm advised would be easier to maintain and less likely for big-ticket items to fail all at once) in a quiet, gated community surrounded by three private lakes and 16 miles of hiking trails surrounded by a green belt (we are a very outdoorsy family with three dogs and a young son). We had looked at several other more expensive homes but they just didn't "fit", and Malcolm recognized that, and so we moved on. Malcolm's goal was to get us into our new home within the first 30 days or sooner so as to minimize the overall amount of time we would be spending in a hotel. When that wasn't possible (the previous owners were in Alaska), he devised a genius idea torent our future home from the previous owners until the deal went through. That ultimately lead to us living in a hotel for a mere 11 days before we were in our forever home. We began this entire process from Texas in mid-November and closed before the new year. Additionally, Malcolm's wife Rosemary is a loan officer with The Legacy Group, which made the finance aspect of the buying process a piece of cake. They were able to hold our hands and walk us through the entire process with little to no frustration or confusion. It was an absolutely wonderful first-time home buying experience. Malcolm remains a good friend to this day and we always carry his card in our wallet, as trustworthy and smart realtors are a rarity in today's housing market.
