Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

One of my favorite recent transactions was helping a veteran in his 70s buy his first home. He had been pre-approved for two years but had never taken the next step until he called on one of my listings. After a short, genuine conversation, he agreed to meet me. I showed him homes in areas I don’t typically serve — all through handwritten forms, phone calls, and wet signatures. It was old school, honest, and heartfelt. Though he began as a skeptic, he trusted me completely by the end, and seeing him hold the keys to his first home was unforgettable.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

My journey began after my first son was born at just 25 weeks, weighing only 1 lb. 4 oz. Returning to teaching at that time didn’t allow me to balance caring for my fragile son and my students the way I wanted to. I had always loved homes and the emotions they carry — so I turned that passion into a new career. Real estate became the perfect blend of my background in education, communication, and design, allowing me to teach clients and guide them through one of life’s biggest decisions with heart and purpose.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

Absolutely. My background as a math and science teacher gives me a unique ability to explain complex information clearly and analyze market data with precision. I also have training from the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, Tom Ferry Elite Coaching, and as a Divorce Real Estate Specialist. I love blending the psychology of negotiation with real-world strategy—helping clients feel confident, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

Lisa was excellent! She listened to our wants and needs and was able to think a little outside the box and able to give us the pros and cons of each house that we looked at. Additionally I did some looking on my own on the weekends and if there was something I was interested in, I let her know and we talked about the pros and cons of that property as well. In the end I trusted her judgment and she was able to think of reasons that property was good and bad that I hadnt even considered. Definitely knows the areas and has a lot of good contacts to help you with the process.

Lisa was always pleasant and professional. The Portland market is very difficult but we found her to be extremely helpful and patient with us as first time buyers. She was as quick to point out problems with the houses we hadn't noticed as she was to point out the positives. I looked at some of the cute Portland houses with rose colored glasses not noticing things like the wiring being old and problematic or that a particular type of siding has the tendency to rot. Lisa was very knowledgeable about these things. She was also very knowledgeable about the area and the market. I wanted a nice house in a walkable neighborhood and I am so happy living in the house she helped us buy.
