I live in Los Angeles, Califonia and urgently needed to sell my Mom's house in Carlyle, IL. My time frame was very ambitious due to my Mother's medical care costs. We didn't want to surrender her beautiful home to the state for Medicaid coverage so we needed to sell fast. To start, I asked Google who was the best realtor near 62231. Kris Dempsey came up top in the search. I looked at her sales numbers for 2022 and was very impressed. Thinking this might be just a marketing gimmick I called the number anyway. I left a voicemail and was about to start another search but right away my phone rang and it was Kris. In a few minutes of sharing my situation she already seemed to have a strategy. I was apprehensive getting into a 6 month contract but I trust the Lord and felt this was the right thing to do. Kris was very informative and kept everything very simple. On top of all of the pressure of making sure my Mom was cared for from 2000 miles away, I had to make all of these decisions and never sold a house before! Kris knew the end-game but only took me through one task as a time. I was never overwhelmed whatsoever. She was very respectful to give my brother and I time to discuss matters and as soon as I was ready to sign the contract to make her our agent, she launched into action! I remember asking her "I'm sure you have prequalified buyers, don't you?" She asserted, "Yes, I sure do!" I signed on the weekend and by Tuesday the house was listed with photos complete! She gave me a short list of things that had to be taken care of and followed up to help guide me. As newly acting Power of Attorney for my Mom's assets and care I was very concerned about all the areas that could cause major delays. Kris plowed right through it all with me even setting up a remote closing so I didn't have to travel back and forth from LA to Carlyle. The bottom line: She listed us on March 21, 2023, had 2 cash offers at, and above asking price and another contingent offer all within a week! She patiently listened for me as I processed through the decision. I had the contract signed with an option to close in 2 weeks or three, with a cash offer! I believed by faith that what my Mom and our family needed could happen but wasn't sure how. I wasn't easy but God made it possible, even sooner than our ridiculous time frame to list and sell within 60 days. We closed on April 18, 2023 and everything happened exactly as she said through the entire process. The most difficult thing we had to do was move all of my Mom's possessions out before closing! She is truly gifted at her profession, super professional and the search engines were 100% correct! 100! Kris Dempsey really is the Best Realtor near 62231! The strangest thing is, we never even met face to face and shook hands but Kris, I give you "air hugs" for all you did to serve us! I am still in awe! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Blessings! Ray
