It has never just been real estate to me. It was me when I was just knee-high to a grasshopper, spending my summer breaks in the Great Smoky Mountains with my grandparents. My grandmother and I would spend our days watching House Hunters on HGTV. While we watched, we would share sweet and sour chicken from the Ingles Market, with frozen strawberries sprinkled with sugar. We had pens and pads, and while we watched, we took notes and conversed. On the last commercial break before the hunters chose their house, we'd express which house we thought was best for them versus which one we thought they were going to choose. Then, we'd keep track of who had the most right guesses. It was competitive, educational, and fun! I knew from that early of an age that real estate was the end goal for me. As I've gotten older, I have found myself riding up and down neighborhood streets, criticizing design choices and admiring architecture for my definition of fun. Before I passed my real estate exam, I felt so overly educated in the home buying and selling process. From firsthand experience, to research stemming from my own curiosity, to knowledge that came from engaging in conversations that at the moment someone may have thought I was too young to be a part of. Now, after passing my real estate exam, I feel more confident than ever. I worked hard to obtain my real estate license, so I could advocate for buyers and sellers. I want to help people make the best decision while feeling no pressure, only supported. The same experience I had, when I bought my first house at just 19 years old.
