We are so grateful we got to buy our new home with John as our realtor. We are first-time home buyers, moving to the US after 20 years overseas, and John took such good care of us, guiding us every step of the way without ever making us feel silly for our newbie questions. We quickly grew to trust his commitment to help us find our dream home, keeping our interests front and center at all times. He was always available to drive us (and our two children!) to visit multiple homes over many days. He is a true professional, and not only an expert in his field but also a lovely person. He was always clear about what he thought were quality aspects and drawbacks of each house we looked at, and was always quick to respond to questions and follow up on details, big and small. John Mentis helped us to buy our home in Northern Virginia in 2011 and we worked with him again four years later on the sale of that same home. John has detailed knowledge of the whole region, well beyond his home office of Arlington, where he literally knows every nook and cranny. I worked with John for almost a year until I finally found the home I was looking for in Fairfax, VA. Over that time John showed me a wide variety of homes without any of the 'buy-now' pressure of other agents. In fact, he would bring negative aspects of the property to my attention that I missed. This is highly unusual, but delightfully refreshing, for someone working on commission. John also took special care to walk me through and explain to me ALL of the paperwork in the offer / buying processes (none of that just sign here and dont worry about the details nonsense other agents try). This was especially helpful since I was a first-time homebuyer and a bit overwhelmed by the process. John made the process as easy as possible and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a realtor.

John was our agent in purchasing a 1 bedroom in Pentagon City, Arlington a few years ago. John is amazing! He's not your average real estate agent -- in addition to being incredibly knowledgeable about the market, available properties and features, John is incredibly caring, compassionate and patient. We were first time home buyers and knew absolutely nothing about the home buying process. John took his time to walk us through every step of the process and answered every one of our questions, not matter how silly they were. He truly had our best interests in mind and took care of us as if we were long-time friends. He saw dozens of apartments with us and was instrumental in helping us make our decision. His attention is detail is incredible also - he would walk us through each apartment and point our all the details and explain their relevance and affect on the price. We are extremely happy with our home and could not have done it without John! Highly highly recommend him - you will not find a better agent!
