There are many brokers and realtors to choose from, but we chose John because of his extensive knowledge of Cape Cod and the local real estate market. Having been born and raised on the Cape, he has a specific depth of knowledge about the area that others simply do not have. Since we knew we wanted to buy on the Upper Cape, John's particular familiarity with the towns, neighborhoods, and housing market in that area was especially valuable. This was my first time buying a house, so there was a lot about the process that was unfamiliar to me. John was great about explaining how things worked and answering all of our questions. He was extremely responsive to texts and phone calls, arranged showings on short notice, and made himself available whenever we needed him. That responsiveness is particularly important on the Cape, where desirable houses can sell very quickly. John also took the time to really understand what we were looking for. We had some specific requirements (e.g., a certain price range, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, a particular geographic area, not being in a flood zone), and he kept all of those things in mind when identifying potential properties for us. At the same time, he occasionally suggested houses outside of our parameters so we could get a better sense of housing types and quality. That was extremely helpful because it gave us a more realistic understanding of the trade-offs involved and helped us refine our expectations. There were times when we worried that we had missed an opportunity to find a house we really wanted. We entered the market toward the end of peak season, and at times the inventory that met our criteria was very limited. John was always reassuring and reminded us that houses would continue to come on the market and that we shouldn't settle for something we weren't happy with. His calm, even-keeled personality was a huge asset throughout the process. He has a very reassuring presence and never rushed or pressured us. John was also honest about the houses we looked at. He would point out potential problems and help us understand what kinds of repairs or expenses we might be taking on, something that was particularly important to me because I know very little about home repair. He was great about giving us his genuine opinion about a property, including both the positives and the potential drawbacks. His professionalism really stood out after our offer was accepted. We had a challenging seller and, at times, a difficult negotiation, but John remained calm, low-key, and professional throughout the entire process. He attended the home inspection, helped us navigate last-minute negotiations, and was there for us through closing. He never added to the stress of the situation; instead, he was steady and reassuring and helped us work through stressful situations and suggesting different ways to approach it. In addition to his real estate expertise, John has a wealth of knowledge about Cape Cod and its history and always had an interesting story to tell or a place to recommend. Having moved here from out of state, I appreciated having these more personable interactions and learning things about my new hometown. His genuine love for Cape Cod was infectious and made us more excited about becoming part of the community. I couldn't have asked for a better broker for my first home purchase (my husband has bought houses in the past). John combines extensive local knowledge with honesty, patience, responsiveness, and a calm and personable approach. ZillowVERIFIED Buying a house sight unseen during a pandemic is a terrifying prospect, so when my wife and I received four year orders to the Cape, a quick google search for ?Best realtor on Cape Cod? lead me to Johns office! I called John and within a day he had several listings to look at. I think over one weekend he went to four separate open houses and viewed several other homes for me all using google duos facetime style app. I was using a VA loan which was not competitive with so many cash offers coming in but Johns extremely persistent and got me into a nice house that was twice as big as I was looking for right in our budget. It hit the market one day and the next it was ours! I cannot tell you how pleased I am we went with John. He always picked up the phone to answer all of the first-time homebuyer questions and was a fantastic guide to have throughout the home buying process. I honestly don?t know if we would have ended up being able to find a house without his expertise. We hit just about every roadblock you can hit during the process due to various contract issues on houses that we looked at and he was able to handle them all easily and wasn?t afraid to tell me if he just thought a house wouldn?t work. He was definitely our eyes and ears on the ground the whole time; trusting someone you?ve never actually met with such a large purchase is a daunting prospect, but you won?t go wrong. I?d recommend to stop looking elsewhere and just give him a call

John ended up driving the literal extra mile to hand-deliver the deposit off-cape after some issues with the post office. John was excellent when negotiating. After I expressed some mild unease about a particular maintenance subsystem, got a significant replacement included in the purchase. When that proved more complicated than expected, John was able to keep the sale on track while still protecting his buyer.
