Without any reservations whatsoever I can say that John is simply the very best realtor you can find anywhere. He is exceptional - a man of great integrity and honesty. He helped my family buy a home in Redmond recently. He guided us through every step of the home purchase. He was very punctual and responsive aEUR" responded to every question of ours in great detail and showed up to appointments ahead of time, every time. He continued to help us even after we bought the home. During both the home search and escrow period, he and my family jointly identified several repairs/improvements (painting, fence, electrical, etc). He then helped us find contractors/tradesmen to do those repairs, and also coordinated most of the onsite work because we were in a different state. In many instances, he paid some of the charges himself, which we reimbursed later. He also purchased many of the items required for the repairs/fixes. He was very conscientious of the cost. For example, we had asked him to help us find a handyman to do some of the minor fixes/repairs; but he completed many of those himself. When we could not find someone on time to trim a few trees to facilitate the installation of a fence, he brought his own tools, pick-up truck, recycling bins and then trimmed the trees and hauled away the cuttings. We cannot imagine any other realtor, anywhere, would do so much for his or her clients. We feel we were fortunate to have a friend refer John to us, and are really grateful for all the help we received from him. It was just a pleasure working with John.

We were in the market to get our first home and we engaged with John, as our friends spoke highly of him. They were spot on when they said that John is incredibly patient, courteous and professional. Not at all pushy. What they didnt mention was the depth of real estate knowledge he brings to the table. We were in a market where it was expected of buyers to waive off all the contingencies. In such a scenario you really want an agent who can see beyond the cosmetics and tell you in no ambiguous terms what you are buying, i.e. your big ticket repair items, if you really bought that house. His 35 years of experience in the greater Seattle area market shows when he is able to talk about the nuances of areas, that otherwise you would have only realized after buying the house. For example, we were at an open house with John, and we really liked the house. We asked for his opinion and what he thought about the property? To which he said, do you hear that sound? Turns out there there was a shooting range a mile away, but due to the acoustics of the area one could clearly hear sounds from it. And it was one of those things, that once you hear it you cannot unhear.There were so many instances where John was able to point out things that were unknown-unknowns to us, but once revealed, were essentially deal breakers.Overall John brings invaluable experience to the whole home buying process. Home buying is full of asymmetric information scenarios and you really want someone like John to bridge and fill that information gap.

We are the buyers of the house. John Barker is a wonderful agent! Anybody will agree with us after working with him. He will be attentive to the specific features, which you require for the property. He will search relentlessly till he finds you the perfect one. He will visit the properties the first day they become available. He will give you a detailed report on each one, paying attention to details good and bad, which you yourself might miss. He will negotiate the best deal for you. He will recommend the financing possibilities. If repairs are needed he will estimate the cost, and will negotiate the discount from the seller, if you want to buy in spite of needed repairs.
