After a while, we felt this would be the perfect place to live. So, we started looking at homes to purchase and also did consider building as well. On one fortuitous occasion we saw a beautiful home that was all about quality construction and design that had a plaque on the wall proudly displaying the builders name--it was a Terrell Home. Although we did not buy this particular home because we were about one year out from realistically being able to move here, we did track down Joe Terrell who agreed to see us before we went back to New Jersey. He quietly listened to what we described as our ideas for the perfect home for us and the ideal area we were seeking. Even knowing that we were not yet ready to buy a home, he spent two days showing us homes throughout the greater Williamsburg area--that began our long-distance realtor relationship with Joe Terrell. Joe was unlike any realtor we had ever known--what other realtor would have a Tyvek suit at the ready in his SUV--Joe did. And, he donned it to investigate one particular crawl space at our request, and gave us his professional assessment! Joe seemed to have an extra-ordinary instinct for home construction (he has earned a Professional Engineering degree), home site development, and utility systems--everything we now know about grinder pumps and heat pumps, we learned from Joe. This gave us great confidence in moving forward with our home purchase, which happened in short order with Joes help in 2016--we have never had any regrets about the home we purchased or our realtor, Joe Terrell. Before we actually moved into our Williamsburg home, we wanted some work done on the house and Joe worked with us, recommending local quality contractors and checking up on the job for us. We wanted to install heavy duty shelving in our walk-in attic but was unsure of the most efficient layout--Joe designed the ideal one for us. Additionally, Joe met the James City County representatives for the Grinder Pump inspection, as we were not able to be there. Since buying our home in 2016, Joe has been the go-to guy for recommending quality/reputable contractors (painters, etc.) and service professionals--he seems to know everybody and everyone has nothing but high praise for Joe. We have tried to paint a picture of Joes professionalism , real estate knowledge (we know he takes regular courses and seminars to stay current), responsiveness and enthusiastic energy. But, beyond this, Joe is a genuine human being who sincerely wants to help you--its more about the relationship and in knowing hes provided exceptional service, beyond expectations. He has an engaging personality, an even temperament, and great sense of humor. He gets outstanding support from the team at Berkshire Hathaway--the office complex is always warm an inviting. While Joe Terrell doesnt take himself too seriously, he takes his customers very seriously. We are fortunate to consider Joe a friend.
