ZillowVERIFIEDAfter interviewing several agents, I chose one to list my house. It sat on the market for 3 months with few showings and no offers. I cancelled with that agent and relisted with Jo Ann Maddalena and her husband Robert. They showed me that they had a lot of experience with houses that didn't sell with the first agent. They had more people at their first open house than I had in 3 months! My house was under contract in just a few weeks. I wish I had listed with them in the first place!

The situation we had was a very difficult one being there were three family members involved. One family member was very difficult to deal with and would try and stop any sales of the property. Jo Ann showed understanding, patience and worked along with the two of us to finally sell this property. Prior to Jo Ann, we had several realtors who eventually gave up because of the uncooperative behavior of the one party. This situation had two attorneys involved because of the differences between the one family member and other two who were in agreement. Also, the home was approximately 100 years old and was in need of major repairs, etc.We cannot thank Jo Ann enough for sticking it out with us. She was professional but also very friendly. Even in this poor market she succeeded in selling my home at a decent price in about five months. She held numerous open houses and always had good advice for me. As a consequence, they figured out we needed to do a bit of work on the basement (it needed painting, primarily). to get it to move and recommended a contractor who got it done promptly and at a reasonable price.I was selling the property 'remotely' - I was about three hours away - so they did a great job of taking care of all the little stuff that needs to be done both before putting the house on the market and getting the various things done before closing.Their comparative value analysis was complete and well-considered. I felt well-supported in working out a listing price and considering the bids that came in.

She was very friendly when we first spoke and very helpful in explaining the area around Warren and what kind of options we had for renting. Due to a job transfer, I was halfway across the country and trying to sell in a buyers market.Bob and Jo Ann had been sending frequent updates on area sales for several years so it was apparent they were in-touch with the local real estate market. When I first met them they stood out from the other Realtors because they were able to work as a team. This was important to me because this doubled the availability -compared to a single Realtor- to check on the condition of the house. I needed experienced Realtors, since this was a relocation sale and would pass through a holding company. It was also important that the Realtor I used be comfortable using e-mail. One of the ways that I narrowed the choice of Realtors to Bob and Jo Ann was that I asked each of the Realtors I met to e-mail me when the property valuation was ready and eliminated those who didnt.I was very glad that I worked with Bob and Jo Ann. The market has been quite tough and they were able to recommend price adjustments over time to keep the property competitive. They were able to check on the house frequently, and could update me on the condition. We could connect frequently by e-mail: sometimes Jo Ann would write and sometimes Bob would write. They held several open houses to keep the property visible.Bob and Jo Ann also were able to handle some unexpected things near the end of the sale. It would have been a complete nightmare for me to coordinate the township inspections and related issues and buyer requested items for the closing from 1000 miles away. Luckily, Bob and Jo Ann knew who to call and what to do for the closing. Overall, I had a very good experience with Bob and Jo Ann.
