I'd heard stories about indifferent agents, legal complications, and houses that had nasty surprises waiting for their new owners once the final closing had finished. But, to my great relief and happiness, I had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish, all thanks to my wonderful agent, Jessica Brown. I actually found Jessica through the Zillow agent search and chose to contact her based on the glowing reviews I read here. Besides her flawless record and reputation, she had experience dealing with military personnel, - something I was particularly looking for in an agent. She contacted me back the very next day and was eager to help me find my very first home. Here's where it gets tricky: I wanted to raise chickens. Yes, chickens. That meant looking for a quieter, more rural property with no HOAs and no covenants, but one that was still relatively close to work/church/friends. It was a challenge, to be sure, but Jessica rose to meet it! After a few months of searching, and me feeling discouraged, beginning to think such a property did not exist in this area within my budget, an opportunity suddenly sprang up, and Jessica was on it! Not only was she quick to organize a showing of the house, but she did it during the Christmas holiday. She literally texted me about it on Christmas Eve, and we were there looking at the property the day after Christmas! Not only was I overjoyed that a wonderful property came available (and one better than I could have hoped for), but I really appreciated Jessica's diligence and dedication, especially in taking some time from her busy holiday schedule to take care of me.
