Q: 2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Hire a trusted and experienced professional. Not all agents are created equal.

Q: 3. What types of clients have you worked with?

In the last 15 years, I have worked with just about every kind of client. My goal is to get the house that my clients want and them to want the one they get.

Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

I recently helped a family buy a larger single-family home and transition out of their townhouse. They were able to get into a neighborhood they wanted at a price that fits their budget. At first, there was no inventory and they were worried it wouldn't happen. I knew I could get it done and they were so happy.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

I was a mortgage loan officer and helped people finance their dream homes or refinance to meet a changing budget. Once I saw how excited people where to buy a home I wanted to be a larger part of the excitement.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

I have principal broker licenses in three states in addition to being a licensed real estate instructor. In addition, I am part of the Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Distressed Property Expert, Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, and a Life Time Member of the NVAR Multi-Million Dollar Award Club.

Over the last four years, Jeff helped us purchase two homes as well as sell our first home. He has so many qualities that make him a fantastic agent and broker. Having worked in the field for many years, Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable about market conditions, including current state and future state. With well-research data in hand, he provided us with sound predictions to aid our decision making in selling and buying. In addition, he is able to provide an unbiased perspective on the overall structure of any property being toured. As a couple who toured unique properties aEUR" often resulting in fixer uppers aEUR" this experience was extremely beneficial. Moreover, Jeff is incredibly patient. He endured more tours than we can count and did so with a smile on his face. Moreover, when we were faced with challenges out of our control and stress increased, Jeff remained calm and provided us with steadfast support and balance. In addition, Jeff is also readily available. I do not believe that there is another agent that provides his level of availability. His responses to texts are never more than just a few minutes, and he is always willing to hop on a call. Moreover, he can set up a showing at a home within minutes. Lastly, he flawlessly navigates and coordinates with the different parties in any transaction (i.e., agents, inspectors, lender, etc.) on behalf of the buyer/seller. You will not find a better communicator. Jeffery Shumaker made us feel comfortable about selling and buying our dream home. He has vast knowledge of everything related to the housing business. Having his expertise around was a blessing because he was able to point out things to avoid like old water heaters, furnaces, and plumbing that were either not compliant or had class action lawsuits on them. Not only was his knowledge top notch, he is very easy to work with and is super responsive. Hes got a no-pressure type of attitude that makes it easier to find the right house. We cant say enough good things about Jeff. He and his family helped us buy our first home after we recently moved to the area. Jeff is awesome. He helped me buy a townhouse and sell my condo. He was very patient, as it took me a while (months) to find a townhouse. I can't speak highly enough about the experience I had with Jeff. I got his card from a friend and called him up, totally out of the blue and during dinner hours. I was interested in a foreclosure and didn't know much about the home buying process with regard to foreclosure/REO. Without hesitation, he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, explaining to me how it worked buying a home already in foreclosure and agreed to help me out any way he could. Two and a half months later, I had the house. During that time, Jeff walked me through the entire process, to include looking at nearly a dozen other homes just so I was sure I knew what the market had to offer and not just settle on the first home I saw. After living in Northern Virginia for the last 30 years, I found myself in a position in which I had to sell my home. Jeff was behind the process of selling my house every step of the way, from guiding me through house preparations, such as painting and cosmetic repairs, to staging and marketing. Jeff has amazing skills when it comes to knowing what needs to be done to sell; his contacts of people who can provide the top finishes and staging are available to choose from. I have to say that I am extremely happy that we found Jeff. We could not have asked for a better realtor. When we were in the market for our first house he took our input and took the time to find a place that fit us perfectly. The place we bought was not even the type of home that we initially were looking for, but he really valued our input and suggested places that we might enjoy and in the end found us a great place. He treats his clients as if they were family, which makes you fell comfortable when making your final decision on buying a home easier b/c you know he just isn't trying to make money but really looking out for your best interest. He spent a lot of time with us looking at different places and we did not feel rushed in a decision at all. This was not the case with past realtors, as we always seemed pressured to put in an offer. When you are with him he truly treats you like you are his only client, no matter how long it takes, or how many questions you ask. He is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile for his clients. He is very knowledgeable of the business and explains things very well if we ever had a question. One thing we love about Jeff is that after we bought our house he still continued the relationship with us. He is always available to answer your questions and make suggestions, on everything from what type of paint you want to use on your ceiling, to what contractor will be ideal to work on your AC unit, to getting you in contact with a finance person if you were thinking about refinancing. He basically, just makes everything easier. We recently were in the market to rent our condo out. Being responsible for renting a home for the first time is pretty stressful, but Jeff and his team made the entire process easy and stress free. Since we are not in the area anymore, he even offered to perform the yearly inspection for us. We definitely plan on using Jeff's services whenever we are in the market for a new home, are ready to sell or rent our current home, or anything related....... Or not related for that matter. We had to sell my mother's townhouse. Jeff told my husband and I exactly what we needed to do in order to sell. He said the house was going to sell fast. He was right. It went under contract within 24 hours of listing. At the same time, we were in the process of finding/purchasing a home. He found the perfect house for us.
