ZillowVERIFIED (Negotiation skills go to 11) I recently bought a house. It is not the first house Ive bought, and probably wont be the last. The path to closing had many bumps, but what kept the whole thing rolling and kept me sane, was my realtor. I found Jason and Kristin Anderson via a recommendation of another realtor who I had worked with in the past but was now out of the business. And I feel very fortunate. Jason and Kristin met me and got me set up in their system and worked with me to define my goals and understand the market here in the Portland area (I'm originally from Texas). The search process took a while (months not years aEUR|) but when the right house came along we moved on it quickly. We hit our first bump just trying to win the bid, but Jason worked some magic and we won. Jason and Kristin had been great in keeping me abreast of the market and up to date on new listings, but it was in helping me get to closing where they really shined. Having won the bid we moved to the inspection phase and confirming the mortgage for the loan amount I wanted. Again bumps in the road, and again Jason and Kristin came to the rescue. The inspection found a couple of issues and the mortgage company ended up needing additional information. But through it all Jason and Kristin guided me, worked as effective and efficient liaisons, and constantly kept me up to date. I thought the deal had fallen through twice due to circumstances beyond our control, but each time Jason and Kristin came up with a solution. I cant thank them enough for their effort and diligence in helping me get the house. One of Jasons many strong points is his skill in dealing with people. Taking confusion or misunderstanding and finding win-win solutions. I would not have gotten to closing without their expertise and help. Jason and Kristin have the experience and dedication to help you get the house you want, but it is their ability to absorb the bumps along the way and keep things moving forward that really made me so happy that I had found them and asked them to help me find a house.

ZillowVERIFIED CHOICE As a former Real Estate agent, I feel I have a good sense of what attributes make a good agent. I interviewed 4 agents to sell my house. Kristin and Jason (K&J) were by far the best presentation. Sure, I know what goes into selling a house, but for me, it was a measurement of who was going to put for the most effort. EFFORT is probably the #1 attribute in my opinion. K&J showed up early, were very well prepared, had already accomplished market research and comparative analysis before our meeting (which they then updated after seeing my house in person). They were respectful of my time but were also thorough in explaining their process. There wasnt a close second. They followed up after our meeting as promised with an updated analysis and recommendations for pricing and listing. It was an easy choice. PRICING K&J clearly did an extensive market analysis to help me price my home. As a former agent, I know that its imperative to let the professionals pick the pricing strategy to get the home sold quickly and at the highest price. I didnt want to tie their hands with my pre-conceived notions. They showed me multiple comparisons and provided an in-depth breakdown of the pluses and minuses versus my home. It was an extra step that gave me confidence that we had the right price. COMMUNICATION Kristin and Jason were kind enough from the beginning to ask me what type(s) of communication I preferred and stuck to that throughout the transaction. They communicated every step and regularly asked for my feedback. This is one of their greatest strengths! I felt like their only client the entire time and never felt like they didnt have time for me. Even when they went on vacation for a family birthday party while I was getting the house ready for sale they still checked in to make sure everything was going well. This level of attention continued throughout the transaction and they never missed a beat. HOUSE PREP Kristin and Jason did a thorough walk-through of my house. I asked them for recommendations on what to fix/update before the sale. They were very respectful and offered logical, intelligent fixes that I could accomplish in my time frame. I truly believe those items helped sell the house in 6 days! They even helped me find a contractor to do some of the work that I couldnt. MARKETING Another strength of this team. You truly never know where your buyer is going to come from. When I was in the industry, I saw most real estate agents cut corners or just market for the initial launch of the listing. As they promised in their interview, they did EVERYTHING to market this house. Social Media, their agent networks, open houses, door knocking, you name it. I believe this had a significant impact on us getting the right buyer so quickly. PAPERWORK This can often be a pain, especially when agents dont know the required documents and the timing thats involved to eliminate mistakes and rework. K&J made sure the paperwork was correct the first time (even found mistakes in the other agents paperwork), and made signing everything a smooth process. I finished this transaction out-of-state and they didnt miss a beat. I was able to sign everything (except closing documents that require a notary) electronically, which made everything easy. CLOSING K&J didnt let off the gas until the day of closing. Many agents try to sail after the negotiations are over with, but these two continued proactive communication throughout and made sure the other agencies involved (title) fulfilled their duties properly and on time. They had the same care on the last day of the deal as they did during our interview! Its nearly impossible to find that dedication in Real Estate. I could have sold this By Owner and saved on the commission they earned. I'm happy to say that they more than earned their commission on this sale and that there is ZERO CHANCE I would have been able to accomplish all the work that they did by myself. Its pretty easy to become a real estate agent. The barriers to entry are extremely low. A few hundred bucks and a test and youre there. That makes it very difficult to find agents that care and will work the entire time. From my experience, most dont put in the effort or dont know what theyre doing in one facet or another. I'm very pleased that I found Kristin and Jason, and I promise that youll be happy too if you choose them.

ZillowVERIFIED We will be Friends! Jason and Kristen his wife were immediately people we enjoyed hanging out with and talking to. They have a great variety of backgrounds behind them both personally and professionally that makes them easy to get along with. My wife and I met with multiple possible agents before deciding to go with Jason and Kristen. One of the main driving forces behind our choice was the amount of involvement we were offered in the process. We specifically loved being walked through the entire process as if we were in a class learning about RealEstate Buying. This was our first home purchase and we enjoyed the learnin's that we were given throughout each stage. Jason was always willing to step back and give us understandable answers to the questions we had or quickly get us information to help us understand more thoroughly. Jason specifically was very communicative through text and email for anything we requested of him. When it came time to negotiate a better price after some things were discovered during inspection, I felt very solid with the advice Jason gave us on how to approach the negotiations. In the end we ended up paying less than asking and even got the seller to cover half of the costs of the repairs found during the inspection. We highly recommend them to anyone wanting to be involved in each step of the process in buying or selling a home.
