About Ian Mills

Ian Mills has been helping Kentuckians buy and sell homes since earning his real estate license in 2019. A Kentucky native through and through, Ian brings genuine local knowledge and a personal commitment to every transaction - from the first conversation to the closing table.

As a veteran himself, Ian knows firsthand the sacrifices military families make - and the unique challenges they face when it comes to buying or selling a home. That's what drove him to earn his Veterans and Military Real Estate Certification (VAREC): a desire to give back to the veteran community by guiding fellow vets through the homebuying process with the expertise and respect they deserve.

Beyond real estate, Ian is an active member of Southeast Christian Church, where his faith and sense of community drive the way he does business - with honesty, integrity, and a genuine care for the people he works with.

Community Involvement

Beyond real estate, Ian is committed to giving back. He's an active volunteer at Southeast Christian Church, Shelby County Campus and serves as a youth leader for the church's Bible camp, helping guide the next generation in their faith. Ian also shares his passion for discipline and growth as a Jiu Jitsu coach, supporting kids at tournaments and helping them build confidence both on and off the mat. Whether in the community, the church, or the gym, Ian brings the same heart he brings to real estate: showing up, serving others, and making a real difference in people's lives.

HOBBIES/INTEREST

When he's not helping clients find their next home, Ian stays active and outdoors. He trains in Jiu Jitsu (and even logged four MMA fights nearly 20 years ago, though these days he's traded the cage for coaching). Archery, hunting, and hiking round out his time outdoors, where he enjoys the same discipline and connection to nature that keeps him grounded.

FAMILY

Outside of work, Ian's greatest joy is his family. He and his wife, Kathy, have four kids ranging from 17 to 26. Rounding out the family are two German Shorthaired Pointers, Bulleit and Lily, who keep everyone on their toes. For Ian, family is at the heart of why he does what he does. He understands that helping someone buy or sell a home isn't just a transaction, it's about finding the right place for the people who matter most.

I cannot say enough good things to express what a wonderful experience it was to work with Ian and Parkside Realty. He began by saying it is his job to point out why I shouldn't buy the house we were seeing, but that ultimately the choice is mine. I loved that because, everyone hates a pushy salesman and I felt that he truly care that I ended up with a quality house. It's no secret the housing market is crazy right now and this partnership lasted a couple of months to find quirky kind of house I wanted. This man was there every step of the way- fielding late night showings, countless correspondence, and showings all across the city. He learned what I liked and above all kept me from settling on something less than what I wanted. It felt like going to see houses with a friend and now I whole heartedly consider him to be one. When it came to selling my home, he gave me expert advise on how to stage it and present to market. Ultimately he got me an above than expected offer and was able to arrange it so I could stay post sale long enough to move into my new home. He is, in a nutshell, a genuine human being and a stand out in his field. I am beyond thankful to have had his help through this part of my life.

We were practically first time sellers and Ian was so patient. He walked us through the entire process. He gave advice to get our house ready, walked us through the contracts, repairs and various documents. I never had a question he didn't get an immediate answer for. He even sought out advice from his broker if he needed a second opinion. He kept me in the loop daily when the house was being shown with appointments, feedback and offers. The entire process of selling our house was seamless because Ian was so thorough. Communication is key in a process like this and that is where he shines.

Ian went above and beyond for my family and got us into our perfect home. He responded within minutes every time we reached out to him with questions or updates and let us know what was going on and what the next steps were. He made the home buying process extremely easy. He even connected us to one of his colleagues who was able to get us a better rate with our financing after seeing what we had been pre-approved for. I trusted this man to help me with my first home, and with the wonderful experience I had with that, I will likely never use anyone else. When I'm ready to sell my home his number will be the first I call. He took care of my every need no matter the time of day. He was easy to schedule with, he was amazing at bouncing ideas off, and he never once suggested that we give up, yet at the same time he never pressured me into buying anything.
