Ian Chandler

Hey, my name is Ian Chandler. I'm a real estate broker with Home and Ranch Sotheby's International Realty on the Central Coast and if you've ever read a profile about an agent you can likely guess what I'm going to say next. That real estate is my passion, that I love helping people find their dream homes, that I'm a marketing expert, and that I sell everything from condos to multi-million dollar estates. Now that's true, but let me tell you some things you probably don't know about me. I grew up in South Lake Tahoe, California. My mom was a real estate agent and my dad was a general contractor although I worked with them every summer I never planned on getting into real estate. I wanted to be an engineer, which is why I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I graduated from in 2012. As fate would have it, I did end up getting into real estate. When I began my career I concentrated on helping owners who had had trouble selling their properties with other agents. It was a tough way to start because as you can imagine many of these owners were not happy with their previous agent(s) and they had little trust that a 24-year-old was going to get them a better result. After all, some of these owners had had their properties on the market for years without selling some of them had used three or four different agents. However, I was persistent and determined that I could succeed if I concentrated on excelling in areas where others had fallen short. I put a huge emphasis on communication and honesty, spent hours upon hours developing aggressive marketing and sensible pricing strategies, and identified countless ways to make transactions run smoother all so I could help folks sell homes faster and for more money. It was an incredibly strong foundation on which to build my real estate career because I saw exactly what stopped homes from selling and I was able to develop strategies and systems to get even the toughest homes sold. I still continue to help owners who've had trouble selling, and now I'm also able to bring that knowledge and foundation to every buyer and seller that I work with. Here are a few other interesting facts that might help you get to know me better. I am married to an absolute saint named Hannah. I call her a saint because not only does she have to put up with me, but she's also an extraordinary mother to our 7 kids. That's right 7. Not only that, she's my business partner, and as much as I hate to admit it, she might be a better agent than I am. It's very frustrating how easily all this comes to her. When we're not working or driving the kids around we're out exploring all the amazing stuff the Central Coast has to offer from beaches to hikes to shows to local festivals.
