Holly McLear

Q: 1. What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

Work with an agent you feel confident in to find and navigate you through the buying process. Use their sales knowledge, not Zillow.

Q: 2. What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Get a price opinion from at least two agents that are local to your homes geography, and don't let the highest price be the guide to choosing your representative.

Q: 3. What types of clients have you worked with?

All kinds with all kinds of different sized wallets. First time home buyers, relocation, vacation, investment, and luxury.

Q: 4. Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

All transactions are unique. I'm always pleased when a buyer and seller are amicable and are happy at the closing table! Just wrapped up two first time home purchases and one sale where my buyers found my listing on line from a Blog I wrote and moved here from Alaska.

Q: 5. How did you get started in Real Estate?

Business Associates asked me to join them when I decided I wanted to work for myself.

Q: 6. Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

17 years of full time realtor experience.

We bought our historic home from Holly, and later hired her to sell it, because we knew how good she was. She attends every showing and inspection, and is an excellent negotiator. Holly is also just a great person to work with.

Holly was so professional and highly skilled at her job. She represented us in selling our house and was in constant contact with us to keep us updated at all times. We wouldn't think about going to anyone else! If you need a real estate agent that knows the area, the market and her job, go see Holly!

I am not one to write online reviews unless someone/something truly deserves recognition as was the case with Holly McLear. We met through mutual friends and as a professional contract painter, Holly referred me to one of her home buyer's. That family, raved about her Realtor services. That being said, when it came time for me to move, I called Holly with a very specific list of criteria. I was fortunate in not having a pressing time frame and was not going to settle for something that could/may work. I'm friendly with other local realtors who I also contacted and not one phone call back, obviously not worth the time as not getting the profit from selling a home. Holly called back and said it may take time, but she would find something that would fit my criteria. She kept in touch to say she was still working on finding the right place within my desired location and must haves, and didn't push me to look at something that didn't fulfill my wish list. Holly came through in a relatively short time, saying I found your new home. First and only place I looked at. Holly took care of all necessary correspondence and paperwork, making the the move effortless! It may be just a rental to some and wouldn't result in commission from a home sale, but it would be home to me. Holly treated me with the same courtesy and respect as someone buying a million dollar property. Being a contractor, I work for several clients who bought secondary homes in the Newport area or know someone who is thinking of buying or selling. I retain work through referrals and very aware a good review means a lot. Holly deserves to be recognized for her hard work, professionalism and going above and beyond. It is apparent Holly loves what she does, her enthusiasm shines through and she truly has your best interest in mind, definitely a go to gal!

Holly was awesome! We were first time homebuyers and Holly was able to explain everything and answer all of the many questions we had. She was also great with negotiating with the seller, and was very helpful in getting in contact with the seller's broker so we could have our own inspector take a look, and contractors give us estimates. I highly recommend Holly for anyone else looking for a new home. She is smart, tough, practical, resourceful, and experienced!

Holly was fabulous! She is the realtor you are looking for! Since we live out of state, Holly ended up handling all aspects of the sale of our property. She impressively went above and beyond the call of duty in managing the listing, multiple showings, business negotiations, complicated tenant needs, and even coordinated our entire closing with the attorney. She is an excellent realtor and a pleasure to work with. Thank you Holly!

Holly McLear was wonderful, start to finish! She listened to our requirements and was not pushy, which is in my opinion, the most important quality in a realtor. Because we were first time home buyers, we had a ton of questions and probably required more attention than other clients, but Holly took the time to explain everything in detail and provided us with good advice/recommendations for services we needed. It was very easy to get in touch with her and she was always quick to reply, whether through email, text, or cell. Holly made herself available and worked with our schedule to meet us at any time; nights, weekends, mornings, last minute, etc. We are so happy with our new home! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a house.

Holly was fantastic to work with. She has a wealth of information about the area, and she is refreshingly honest. Specifically she was able to find many houses that fit our needs which ultimately led us to buying. We liked that she is also a member of the community we are moving into.

I am in the military and moved to Newport, Rhode Island. I contacted Holly about purchasing real estate in the area and she knew the market of the area very well. My wife and I gave here our desires for a home and she did a wonderful job finding homes with the criteria we wanted. Holly was very patient with us even when our criteria changed and when our smaller children were acting up as we were looking at houses.Bottom line is that Holly is highly professional and quite productive agent who will work for your best interests throughout your entire real estate transaction process.

I would, and have, recommended Holly to people who are looking for a broker in the Newport area. Holly assisted us in purchasing a condo in Newport in 2009. She has since helped us in renting the unit when we needed her assistance and expertise. Her follow through is amazing and she is readily accessible. She will guide you through the process and make it understandable. I am hoping that when I am ready to buy my retirement home, Holly will still be in the area because I would definitely be a return client.

My husband and I worked with Holly to purchase our first home and we were not "Easy" to please. Besides being a little "picky and having a budget as well as being 7 months pregnant Holly was amazing!! She knew what style we wanted, she got us in to see houses at the last minute and worked around our crazy work schedules. She was patient and kind but she was also very honest and that helped up to find the perfect house. Holly also pointed us in the right direction to get the best financing and set us up with the right people. She is very dedicated to each of her clients, I'm sure she has a lot but she always made us feel like we were the only ones. We are now looking for house #2 and Holly is already working diligently to find us the perfect "forever" home. If you need a relator to buy or sell your home call Holly, she is amazing!!!

I met Holly when she helped my daughter buy her house. My daughter was a first time buyer and Holly helped her through every step of the process. When it came time to sell my house and buy another I knew that I wanted her to help me. While buying went pretty smoothly, selling my house was a huge challenge. Holly did something to help me every day. She dealt with contractors and a million details when I felt totally overwhelmed. She does not take impossible for an answer. I can recommend her as a realtor with great confidence.
