Unfortunately you can't always choose when to move! Heather was absolutely amazing and we can't praise her enough. This is the 3rd home we've purchased and Heather was by far and away the best realtor we've used. We first "met" on video call as we were still living out of state at the time, and she answered all our questions about the home buying process during a pandemic and how we would move forward being careful to follow appropriate COVID precautions. She went to numerous home showings for us around town and would walk us through the home virtually via video chat as we were still living out of state! Heather has done numerous renovations of older homes, so she has an amazing eye for potential in a house, as well as for potential problems. When we would ask for her honest opinion, she would give it without sugar coating anything. We very much appreciated her honesty and insight as we couldn't evaluate anything on our own and were relying on her discretion. Perhaps our favorite thing about Heather is her responsiveness. If we had a question she was always available via text, email, or phone call to answer questions, and if she didn't now the answer right away she would get back to us promptly after doing some investigating. ZillowVERIFIED I need to start by saying without Heather I am 100% sure I would not be in my dream home that I am in today. My partner and I had been considering a move from Los Angeles to Portland for a little over a year. However, it was not until January of 2020 during a trip to Portland with my mom celebrating her 60th birthday that I seriously began my search and met Heather. We were touring an open house where Heather happened to stop by and we chatted for a bit and told her what we were doing. We explained that we had just started searching and didnt know too much about the process of buying a home, but were on our way to a few more open houses. One of these open houses looked incredibly promising and was something I was really excited to look at. Heather offered some great advice about the home and offered to meet us there if we would like some insight. She also stressed that we interview at least 3 agents, and that she would be honored to be considered among them. Her honesty and gentle confidence immediately left and impression on me, but I was still only beginning my search so I got her contact info and went on to the next home. We arrived early at the open house but were still allowed to tour. The property was an absolute stunner! It was architecturally beautiful, next to a park, minutes from downtown, had a floor plan perfect for our family, and was within our budget! My mom and I talked and figured that If we seriously wanted this home we mind as well take Heather up on her offer as there was little risk on our end. Heather immediately answered and said she would meet us there in 15 minutes. She jumped right in and began to probe the listing agents for details about the home as well as inspect the whole building. Shortly after she was able to provide us so much more information about the home. By this time the open house was swarming with people as this property was one that was so desirable. Heather then informed us the listing agent was going to be taking the final offer on Monday. Keep in mind too that the open house was on a Saturday and the home was just listed the day before. She also informed us they already had 2 offers in and that the home would likely get a few more. She continued to offer great advice and at no point attempted to pressure us to sign anything or commit. She said if we had any questions or wanted to move further to feel free to contact her, but if not to enjoy our trip and keep her in mind for the future. I contacted my partner and told him about everything as my mom and I considered what to do next over lunch. We decided to give it a shot and call Heather back. She immediately went to work on getting us a pre-approval letter over the weekend. She sent emails to many of her most trusted brokers and lending agents and found someone who was able to get us a pre-approval within 12 hours. Knowing the home was so desirable she then began drafting an offer letter with protections built in for us allowing an inspection period while remaining extremely competitive with all of the other offers. We submitted our offer and crossed our fingers. Heather continued to constantly reach out and always ensure that if through any part of the process we had questions she would remain available to answer them. 48 hours passes and we get a call back from Heather saying the listing agent has a few follow up questions. Heather again offered her expert advice on what to do next and later that evening we get the call that our offer was accepted! She informed us that this is only the beginning of the process and that we should immediately begin the inspections. That day she began to schedule everything and within the week we were able to complete all inspections and appraisals. As we had since returned to Los Angeles she made herself available for every single one of the inspections to ensure that she would be able to provide us with all of the info we may need. She again explained everything flawlessly stating all of the risks potentially involved and timelines available before we may need to do potential repairs. With this information my husband and I were able to make an informed decision and decided to continue on with the purchase. Heather again went straight to work helping facilitate everything while always remaining available should we have any questions. She even felt she may be able to negotiate with the seller to cover closing costs and get $15k taken off our offer. Through a weekend of hard negotiating and meticulously planned conversation Heather came through AGAIN! Not only were we getting our dream home but we were getting it for less than expected all while being provided the best care and support! Heather is a basically a real estate super hero, and I cannot stress how highly I would recommend her. My family and I are forever grateful that we get to call this house our home and it is only because of Heather that I have that privilege today! THANK YOU HEATHER!! <333

ZillowVERIFIED I could write a similar review to the many others posted about Heathers help in buying our new home, however, I wanted to show a slightly different perspective. With Heathers help we recently bought a house in south east Portland. During the home inspection the inspector pointed out that the water heater was old but that we could try to get a couple more years out of it. A few days after closing on the house we had A-Temp heating and cooling clean and adjust the furnace. While their tech was there he told us the water heater just didnt sound quite right. We tried to find a plumber to come inspect, and, if necessary, fix the water heater. We were unsuccessful in finding anyone who would come out over 2 days and over a dozen contacts. We then called Heather and asked for help finding someone. Heather searched for a couple of days, and never gave up. She found a contact, Stan the Hot Water Man and got him to come out the next day. By this time not only did the water heater sound strange, it was also leaking. After the inspection and identifying the need for a new water heater, Stan returned the next day and installed a new unit. This was after the sale of the home. It was not Heathers responsibility, yet she was a champ and came to our rescue anyway. Thank you, Heather

But for us us, born and raised in Michigan and settled in Portland for 17 years, it was a sudden turn of fate that would take us back to where we were originally from and Heather was with us every step of the way. And when I say sudden I mean it wasn't in the cards. My husband lost his job, a mid century modern home in a neighborhood where we dreamt about living in Michigan became available and timing was critical. Our move depended on getting this house and selling our Portland home for the price we needed. And like home transactions usually go, you feel like you hold your breath just long enough that you ALMOST pass out. But you don't and we didn't because of Heather. When my sister sent me photos of this home in Michigan, I called Heather on Friday night and told her we needed to setup a time to meet, she was there the next morning. We needed the purchase of this new home to be contingent on the sale of our Portland home but we needed our Portland home sale to be contingent with the purchase of the new home. It was complicated and she made it happen. When we put our house on market, Heather suggested we go lower to spark interest and get people in to see the house. We were nervous but she understood the market and behaviors and wanted to get as many people in to see the house as possible. This was in September. The market had softened just a bit and there were houses in our neighborhood that were not selling. Our house went live on Thursday night. We allowed visitors at set times on Friday and Saturday and an open house on Sunday. We had over 60 people go through the open house and by Monday, we had 7 offers. The offer we accepted was 60k over asking. Heather helped us find a wonderful Michigan real estate agent and then worked closely with the agent to make sure our timing of things were aligned. She listened to us and acknowledged every emotion on this ridiculous roller coaster and not once made either of us feel like we were being irrational. We were taking a bold and terrifying move, uprooting our family, leaving our community we love and a city we adore and we were buying a house we did not see until inspection. It was crazy. Some may say nuts, but not Heather. Instead, she always remained positive and when I felt emotional, she literally held my hand and helped me work through the decisions. Heather is amazing. Heather worked with us during a time when there was very little housing stock on the Portland market and bidding wars were occurring on every house up for sale. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the process, different neighborhoods around town, and was very good at predicting seller behavior. She's kind, responsive, and made herself available on pretty short notice to run out to view homes or conduct research for us. She was honest with us when she thought we should pass on a house and didn't rush us into buying. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that she has quite a depth of understanding of construction and architecture and was particularly helpful in identifying historic features in a house, as well as updates. She was also helpful in estimating repair costs. Once our bid was accepted and we entered into the inspection phase of the process, Heather encouraged us to have the house throughly inspected, including sewer scope and radon. When the sewer line was found to be failing and high levels of radon were found in the basement, she successfully re-negotiated with the seller to cover repairs and get us money back on closing costs. Perhaps most telling, Heather stayed with us for the entire 4.5 hour general inspection of the house! She's dedicated and genuine and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to first-time homebuyers like ourselves or anyone else!
