Find an agent who listens to what your needs are and doesn't pressure to buy a home that you don't want or that is out of comfort zone with your budget. If it doesn't feel like home or that you can make it home don't buy it! Get preapproved before you start looking at houses and ask your agent who they would recommend as a lender. Lenders matter in getting an offer accepted and a transaction to closing.

Declutter, depersonalize, and clean your home before you put it on the market. Those 3 things go a long way! Have an agent come look at the house before they give you a price. We can't price a house without seeing it and then looking at the comps in the area. Ask what they will do as the listing agent to get your house sold.

I always had an interest in real estate and started working on my license when I was getting ready to leave the fire service. I still wanted to help people and I feel I still get to do that.
