The first night we met Grady he sat down and explained so much of the home buying process, from the process of looking at homes to inspection to sale. He was so patient with us and made sure we fully understood everything. When we started looking at homes in person, he wasn?t just there to make a sell. He truly wants you to find a home you are happy with. He pointed out little things that we may not have noticed ourselves but were so grateful he did as we ended up buying the perfect home for our family. My wife and I were moving from out of state, which can always make house hunting a little tricky. However, Grady made the process go so much more smoothly and easier than we could have ever hoped for. Flying back and forth to look at potential homes would be a very time consuming and costly process for an out of state buyer, but for homes that we had viewed online Grady had scheduled time with sellers to view those homes and provided us with high quality video tours of the homes that we could view online. The video tours were very thorough and informative. Grady has a lot of experience and knowledge, which was quickly apparent to us as he pointed out the good and bad in each home from everything that was minor to potentially big issues. Often times he would spot potential issues that we either hadnt noticed or would never have even thought to look for. It was also very obvious that Grady was extremely familiar with the area as he was able to offer a lot of insight on different neighborhoods, streets, potential commutes, etc. Throughout the whole process we felt like Grady cared about helping us find a home that we would be happy with and meet our needs. When we were able to fly into town, he dedicated entire days to just being able to show us around and focus on us. If he had other clients, it always felt like he put us front and center. We never felt rushed or pushed towards a home that we didnt want to buy. I think it goes a long way when a realtor seems to actually care about you and your best interests over simply making a quick buck. He was a strong negotiator and was able to help us stand out above the multiple other offers on the same home. Even after we purchased our home, Grady continued to go out of his way to keep in touch and help us out in our transition to becoming homeowners. During the closing process he helped take the lead on scheduling the various home inspections and was able to be there in person when the inspections were occurring. This again was immensely helpful for us being out of state buyers. I whole heartedly recommend Grady Nelson as a realtor to anybody in the market for a home. Hes friendly, knowledgeable, and has your best interests in mind. If we ever end up looking to sell or buy a home again in the future, we would happily work with Grady again without hesitation.

We are an out-of-state family with 3 small children who was looking to relocate to Portland. A thriving downtown, beautiful nature, great schools, and better cost of living attracted us to the area. But this was not an easy task, as we had no prior connection to Portland. But Grady embraced us - introducing us to the various towns, driving us from neighborhood to neighborhood from house to house, and helping us to navigate through school systems and tours in order to select the best neighborhood and home to meet our family's needs. While we were at home in CA, he would check-out and video any potential properties on our behalf. This made our home search go more smoothly. With his help, we were able to finally narrow down the neighborhood that best matched our family's goals (Lake Oswego and West Linn). Grady's former career as a police officer and his board membership in one of the local school districts really gives him an insider's perspective and knowledge of the local towns and schools. Grady is a very likable, easy-going and honest guy; we felt immediately comfortable with him. At the same time, he is a firm negotiator and felt lucky to have him on our side when placing potential offers. We highly recommend Grady to help any family find their dream home in the Portland area! Our family had some unexpected personal changes that precluded us from relocating at this time.
