We live on the west coast and so the whole process of rehabbing the house, getting it ready to put on the market was a little daunting for us. While living in Maryland we knew about David reputation as an excellent real estate agent. So it was a natural choice to call him up to seek his assistance. From the very beginning David was an absolute gentleman. He was patient, attentive, and went above and beyond what I expected a real estate agent would do. He organized for various trades people to come and work on the house, monitored and followed up on the progress of the work. Took before and after photos. Liasoned between us and the trades people, HOA agents etc. He and his team cleaned, priced, staged the house. He hired a professional photographer to take excellent photos of the house and property to be placed in countless newspapers, magazines and brochures. He took time out of his busy schedule to hold multiple open houses. He set up email notifications so that we could keep track of the showings and see the magazine publications for our house. You can fully trust David to be meticulous, responsive and hardworking to get the job done. Before he left for his holiday, he made sure that everything had been completed ready for closing and even while he was on holiday, he still kept us informed as to what was happening with the closing process. Finding a affordable property in Takoma Park is quite a challenge and I probably looked at over 20 properties. My dilemma was that I wanted to do a cash offer on a home based on sale of property in NYC. While my property in NYC was under contract in early June the long process of getting to closing took until Sept.13. Meanwhile I went under contract for a home to buy in Takoma Park in July. Elliot Barber had to deal with a Maryland real estate agent and seller to get several extensions of my contract. He faced continual nervousness and harassment from the seller and agent and handled it all with expert professionalism. While I was going through my own emotions of possibly losing the Takoma Park house, Elliot and David handled it all beautifully including communicating with my attorney in NYC to arrange for a next day transfer of funds to MD for the closing. ZillowVERIFIED I used Mr. Maplesden to rent out my home in Landover MD. He greatly overpriced the rental, leading to some weeks before the listing was adjusted for the local market. The management was handed over to his associate, Elliot Barber. The tenant had an eviction record, and seemed to be a difficult tenant, in my opinion. There were multiple replacements of some items, and damage to the walls and furnace. Mr. Barber seemed not to take my concerns into account, in my opinion. He also provided only sporadic acounting on request and 1099s were very late, after I requested them. He assured me that a sizeable water bill was taken care of, which it wasn't, and I have had to pay it.
