My wife did not like a lot we had requested to see, for it was very windy and the roads were very bad for a 2 wheel drive vehicle so, Carol had not trouble with that but immediatly recomended another home to see in the area.

Did not even remember date of MLS tour she had told me about, "not at my computer".Tried to cancel contract, but she put a condition that she get paid if I find another realtor.

ZillowVERIFIED Whether my negative experience with Thompson Realty derived from poor communication on the part of Carol and Julie or from a deliberate nickel-and-diming business practice, their handling of our business together was unacceptably unprofessional.My wife and I have a dog, and we are perfectly willing to pay additional fees when leasing a home from an owner who allows pets. That said, Thompson Realty's print advertisement for a Silver City rental specified aEURoepets (1 dog) upon approval;aEUR? there was no mention of a pet fee. When Julie showed us the house we were informed that the owner would have to meet our dog; there was no mention of a pet fee. We scheduled that meeting, and during the hour we spent introducing our dog to the owner, her husband, their gardener, and Carol (the owner of Thompson Realty) there was no mention of a pet fee.Our dog was approved and we paid Thompson Realty $70 in rental-application charges; there was still no mention of a pet fee.Our application was approved and Julie advised us by email that she was preparing our lease and that there would be a $25/month pet fee.I replied and told Julie and Carol that they had multiple opportunities to advise us of a pet fee, and that doing so AFTER taking our money (and time) was ethically inappropriate and that we do not conduct business with people who condone such a practice.Had Julie or Carol offered to explain or apologize (or refund the $70 application charge we would NOT have paid had we been advised of a pet fee as late in the process as after our pet meeting), this negative review would be unnecessary. Regrettably, however, I have not after two weeks been offered even the courtesy of a reply from Thompson Realty.
