I am a tough cookie when it comes to expectations for managing details and prompt communication, and Brett has continued to meet or exceed my high expectations. Brett is my husband's cousin (full disclosure), and I was skeptical how it would be working with a family member, but Brett is the commensurate professional. We originally thought we'd be a lot slower to buy, but when we got approved for a loan faster than we thought we would and everything started moving really fast, Brett was responsive and ready to go. Brett was more than professional he was an excellent moderator between the emotional side of a market like this and the rationale side of protecting the largest investment you will make from, well, sometimes yourself. He was not interested in serving anyone but my wife and me and pursued every offer and counteroffer with our best interests at heart. Can not sing his praises enough. As first time home buyers, during the greatest seller's market in recent history, I can state without a doubt, we would not have our dream home without him.He has vertical knowledge of homes, areas, the home buying process and home value after purchase. He simply didn't show us a home. He walked with us through it. If a foundation looked solid, what kind of siding was used, if the roof was newer or needed to be replaced. Long term value of a home, and was honest when one was not going to be a good purchase. We did not feel like another paycheck, in fact, there were many times were he worked hard so we could get a better deal.And his help didn't stop after our offer was excepted, he made sure we were comfortable and happy with the inspection, gave good advise on how to address "problems" from the inspection, and had us covered about things we didn't know to be concerned with. We hoping this will be our forever home, but if it isn't, we know exactly who to call first.
