He also kept me on track with our timeline for putting all the pieces together, like the inspection, any work we needed done, homeowners insurance, the mortgage loan application and approval, and contacting the lawyer. It was because he understand the value proposition that my old house offered. He brought in a team of workers to get the house ready to show and list it properly. He did such a great job that we got a full price offer on day 1. This was before the boom in Durham. From the moment we signed the rep agreement, everything went perfectly smoothly and I knew I was in the best hands. All of this experience convinced me that I could never use another realtor. Then, for two years he chased every rainbow I pointed at, through budget changes and me figuring out what I actually wanted, with enthusiasm and sound advice. He then helped me through the process of being outbid 6 times in the madness that is currently the downtown Durham housing boom. When we finally found a house we loved he expertly ushered us through the negotiating process, helping us find the best people to work with. His knowledge from his previous work in the construction business was a huge aid as we could literally walk into any home for sale and he would be able to point out the good, the bad and the inconsequential, or as he put it "problems with a big P or little P!" He was able to work with our schedule which included looking at houses on weekends or after work and he always took us to see the homes we were interested in. As soon as he learned our preferences, he was able to set us up with a automatic mail list that included all the relevant information that would help us decide if we wanted to see a home. He was never pushy and stressed to us the importance of a home that would leave us with rainy day money instead of trying to get us to dump all our savings into the most expensive home he could find and be done with us. In then end when we chose a home, he did a great job of negotiating, getting us closing cost assistance and extra money to help with repairs! He even helped us after we closed with finding contractors to help us with repairs. He continues to offer us advice and assistance and we could not ask for a more dedicated and knowledgeable agent! And would you believe, after all this, he even got us a house warming present!
