ZillowVERIFIED We interviewed several real estate agents, but we knew Alicia was the right one within a few minutes of meeting her (my husband and I have different styles but we both agreed on this). She brought the market analysis and data that my husband wanted and she brought the empathy and excellent advice that I wanted. Alicia never hesitated to tell us the hard things (like that there was probably just one perfect buyer out there for our house, not 10, due to the size and layout of our house) and never gave false hope or flimsy reassurance. She was able to work as essentially our project manager and get all the contractors lined up and doing the work needed to get our house ready for sale on an aggressive timeline. She had a great team of contractors who were available to put in new carpet, refinish the hardwood floors, paint everything inside and outside and get lots of little repairs done as well. When it came time to set a price, she gave us the market data and her best advice, but never pressured us. She is shrewd, strategic and seasoned and that really came through when we were negotiating with buyers and needed to figure out our approach. Alicia was also always available, responding to texts and phone calls quickly and coming out to our house (even though she doesn't live that close) at a moment's notice. She did things that certainly weren't part of her job description, like moving branches out of the way and picking up pears that had fallen from the pear tree when our landscapers hadn't taken care of it, and bringing garbage cans down. I moved out of the country in the middle of this whole process but I was confident that she would see it all through successfully. We were lucky to find Alicia.

We bought two homes in SE Portland with her and through it all, I felt like she was my partner, through and through. First, she was incredibly responsive and I never got the feeling that she tired of my questions about properties. I appreciated her honesty and her willingness to visit any property I was interested in, even if she wasn't necessarily too keen on it for us herself. She didnt pressure me to decide and patiently supported me until I settled on the type of home I wanted. Her partner, Bobbi Inman, was equally helpful when Alicia was not available. I realized the value of Alicias help more after I decided to make an offer on a home I found. First, she successfully negotiated to lower the asking price by a substantial amount. Second, she brought in her trusted team of inspectors to evaluate every detail of the home. When an issue was flagged with one of the exterior walls, Alicia helped me hire a specialized inspector to investigate further. In addition to first rate customer service, knowledge and expert advice, Alicia comes with an uncanny instinct for finding solutions and identifying potential problems. In our case, it was a septic system that did not seem right. Alicia had a feeling that we should expand our inspection to include a full review of the tank and drain field. We took her advice. Alicia was on site to observe the inspection. Turns out there were some potentially serious maintenance issues. With this information in hand, the seller agreed to a $25,000 credit for system repairs and maintenance. Had this gone undetected, we would have shortly been forced to connect to the city system at a cost of something like $40,000, Wow aEUR" we dont have that kind of money to throw around.
