However, Alan was especially helpful in regards to making sure I understood where we were in the process, what things to look for, recommending appraisal services, what to expect and ask for in negotiations, and so forth. In fact, thanks to Alan's expertise, we thankfully did not purchase the first home we tried to bid on after finding out some of the hidden deferred maintenance would be too expensive and worrisome to fix.
