Abby helped us sell my father's home in Novato in record time (35 days from listing to close of escrow) and for $65,000 over the asking price. I do not understand why anyone would use a different real estate agent then Abby Tanem?My Novato home was a townhouse that was in northern Novato. The condominiums in that neighborhood were severely under priced and Abby was not only able to get me $50,000 over asking price, but was able to meet with the appraisers to explain why this Madera Marin complex was being undervalued. Therefore, my buyers had no problem getting funding. In addition, my mothers home was in Napa. Through her efforts, we received a purchase price $11,000 over our asking price. How does she do this? Abby really works hard for her money. In both cases, Abby provided staging (which is so necessary) a professional photographer to show my homes in their best light, a website with the beautiful photos and handled the agents that were providing offers With respect and kindness. She is a delight to work with. When Abby isnt available to handle a contractor, inspector, or emergency plumbing problem personally, she relies on her assistant John Hendricks to pull it off. John is every bit as professional and kind as Abby. They make an amazing team!In my mothers Napa home that we sold upon her death, she also came to the rescue to hire service providers to remove 50 years of clutter from the home, hire painters to completely paint the inside of the home, professional cleaners to make sure that it shined! ZillowVERIFIED Hands down, Abby Tanem has to be the best realtor in Marin County! Abby was the listing agent on a house we purchased several years ago. She was very pleasant and easy to work with then and so it made sense to have her list the same house she previously sold to us. Not only was she the listing agent on our home sale but she represented us as buyers with the purchase of a new home. I couldn't imagine a more complex situation: We found a home that we loved that wasn't yet on the market. We submitted a contingent offer (needed to sell our house in order to buy new one) and didn't even yet have our home on the market. After a few conversations with the listing agent, Abby worked her magic to get our offer accepted (which was unheard of to accept a contingent offer during the crazy Marin market) below the asking price. We then went into speed mode to get our house staged, fixed up and on the market within 1 week. Abby is so well connected that we had cleaners, window washers, stagers and movers all at our home within a few days (normally these people are booked out for weeks). Once our home went on MLS, we had multiple offers over asking price immediately. Abby had to figure out timing of close dates and move dates to coincide, multiple inspections on the new property while we were out of the country, lender challenges with our unusual situation, sellers who were difficult to work with and making sure both transactions ran smoothly. To say the least, Abby is a rock star! She remained so calm and poised during my panicked and stressed out phone calls. I never felt she was pressuring us to make decisions. The whole time she was confident, positive and dealt very professionally with new challenges that kept popping up. She kept us well informed every step of the way. In the end, everything closed on time and without any hiccups. Abby is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. She always made herself available and followed through on everything she said. I am probably one of the toughest clients she has had. I have exceptionally high standards, am super picky and expect perfection. The first thing I noticed was Abby's calm voice, she was positive without being a salesperson - leaving our meeting I knew I wanted to work with her. My project was a 1031 exchange, selling a Marin home I had lived in for 15 years and managed as a rental for 20 years; followed by purchasing a Sonoma County replacement property. Instead, we found great single family home on 1/4 acre lot in American Canyon / Napa County! Abby was wonderful walking me through this process as I was nervous venturing into home buying and making these decisions by myself. Fast forward to 2017 and the value of my home has more than doubled! So has my family! I am now married with three little boys and my mother-in-law lives with us making us a family of six. My husband and I have fallen in love with American Canyon but we realized that our growing family needed more space. We decided to explore our options of buying a larger, newer home.
