The first step is to find a local real estate expert in your area - someone who knows the local market and has successfully sold homes in your immediate area. I find that searching in Google then looking at the agent's reviews in Google or Zillow is a good start. If the agent doesn't have a presence on either of those platforms, that should be an immediate red flag. I'd compile a list of 2 or 3 agents from your research and then interview them and select the one that's the best fit for meeting your objectives and someone you know you can successfully work with. They will be able to get your started with punch lists of projects that need to be done and other preparations to get your home ready to be presented to the market.
