Hi Rosa, A beautifully renovated home can be very appealing as you don't need to do anything to it prior to move in. That being said, I generally prioritize neighborhood and location. Great neighborhoods hold their value and are appealing to many buyers. You must consider how much work the fixer-upper needs and if you have the additional funds to do the work. Are there any significant issues like a roof leak or foundation crack? How much will these items cost? You may need to hire a licensed contractor to give you realistic estimates. Also, if you don't have the money and you were to take a home equity line to do the improvements, how will this affect the monthly cost of the home? Are there improvements that can be made now (like kitchen and baths) and others that you can live with and do later (Painting, flooring, landscaping)? Ge Ge Engwald Parry
