I recommend speaking with a lender before you ever begin looking at properties. The lender is the person that decides if a purchase can be made, the price range and the loan type, all very necessary pieces of information so you know what you're looking for.
You may not want to hear this but all agents offer about the same service, with small differences from company to company, regardless of experience. What we're trained to do for our client's to help them sell their home is the same. I recommend choosing the agent based on their attitude and excitement at the time their discussing what they plan to do for you. It's the caring sales agent who's going to jump in and go to bat for their seller's, not necessarily the agent who's been in the business longer.

I recently was a dual agent and it was a small home in Martinsburg. I was able to help the seller understand the buyer's point of view and the buyer understand the seller's. I graduated with my MBA from Shepherd university in 2011, I went into property management for a few years and then I decided to add real estate to my resume. I think I'm right where I'm supposed to be.
