Joseph Himali

Joe Himali is a native Washingtonian and licensed real estate broker in DC, Maryland, and Virginia with more than 27 years of experience helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate the region's most distinctive neighborhoods. Born at GW Hospital and raised in the Maryland suburbs, Joe has spent his entire life immersed in the culture, history, and architecture that make the Washington area unlike anywhere else.

Joe began his real estate career in 1999 and earned the GCAAR Rookie of the Year award that same year. He went on to serve as President of the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors in 2009 and was named GCAAR Realtor of the Year in 2022. Washingtonian Magazine has recognized him among the Best in Real Estate every year from 2015 through 2025. He holds a Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation and has completed specialized historic real estate training through the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

What sets Joe apart is his deep, firsthand knowledge of Washington's built environment. He has particular expertise in historic and architecturally significant properties, including rowhouses, co-ops, and mid-century buildings that require a buyer or seller who genuinely understands their character and value. He is an active member of the DC Preservation League, the Cleveland Park Historical Society, and the Historical Society of Washington DC.

Beyond real estate, Joe founded Best Address Media in 2019, a DC-focused storytelling platform covering architecture, history, and travel that has grown to more than 565,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. He leads Best Address Walking Tours through neighborhoods including Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Kalorama, and Tenleytown, and hosts the History Salon and Creator Salon community event series.
