Full disclosure here: I have been a real estate professional in the Bay Area for over 30 years. I have met and worked with many real estate agents over the years. Amie helped my wife and I buy our house in the Westshore neighborhood of Lake Tahoe approx. 8 years ago. We did not know all of the nuances of this marketplace i.e. most homes sell fully furnished, past rental history is important, proximity to the lake is very important, etc. Amie explained all of this to us and guided us through a successful transaction. Fast forward 8 years. Our situation changed and it was time to sell. Luckily for us, there was significant appreciation in the Lake Tahoe marketplace since our purchase. Thus, we needed to do a Starker 1031 exchange to avoid capital gains tax. Amie was familiar with this process and did an incredible job selling our home. She presented recent sales and current listings and then we worked through a detailed strategy to properly price and market the house. Everything she said that she and her team would do to sell the house was executed to perfection. She created buzz with this new listing and we had a great offer in 1 week which for Lake Tahoe is amazing! Remember, real estate agents are basically problem solvers. Once the house is in escrow, inspections need to be performed: termite, roof, building, appraisal, etc. Amie and her team assisted with all of these inspections. Then, negotiations must be made with the buyer when those inspections are complete. Amie was brilliant in keeping our deal in tact and it closed on time, which when in an exchange is quite important. In short, I was very impressed with Amie and her team in both helping us buy a great house in Lake Tahoe and then helping us sell it.
