Staley Real Estate initially opened its doors in 1949. It was the first real estate company in Northern Dutchess CountyaEUR"appropriately so since the Staley family prides itself in its historical ties and its historic "firsts." The company was founded by its first principal broker, Homer Knickerbocker Staley Sr., whose name when broken down can be traced back as far as the early 1600s. His first name was taken from his uncle Homer, who himself was named after the Greek poet. He also carried the Knickerbocker name, because the Staley's are descendants of the Knickerbocker family, whose roots go back to Holland 400 years ago. There is a copy of the Knickerbocker family tree hanging in the Staley office today. Currently, the business is run by his son Homer Knickerbocker Staley Jr., along with one of his grandsons, Daniel L Staley.

First, I am very reserve with reviews. Regarding Dan Staley of Staley Real Estate I have no hesitation on informing you on my experience with him being our realtor. I have no affiliation with the area that the house we listed is in and I live over 100 miles outside of the State of New York. Upon trying to sell a family members home who did live in the area we asked around for a broker and Dan's name came up and was highly recommended so we called him. Once you meet Dan you will see why he is a great person to work with. The house that was being sold was during the start of the pandemic. The house was old and needed work prior to being sold. With Dan living in the area his entire life and his family being in the real-estate business as well he was up to the challenge and came through with every aspect of getting the house sale ready and marketing the house accordingly. Once again in a very difficult time where people were hesitant or could not leave their homes. The house was sold in a very timely manner considering everything that was going on. Very pleased with Dan and would highly recommend him. Thanks Dan!
