We purchased our house in a serious seller?s market. There were many houses for sale, prices were elevated, and sellers did very little to make their homes look presentable. They simply didn?t need to. We were literally looking for our needle in the haystack and the task wasn?t easy. Ellen was tireless in driving us to homes all across our chosen area. When the time came to put in our offer, because of the market we were in, she knew just what to do to get the seller?s attention over all the other bids he was receiving. The closing was effortless; Ellen does all the work. I would highly recommend Ellen for her knowledge of the real estate industry, the experience she brings to the table and professional and pleasant demeanor she exhibits at all times. Ive worked with Ellen twice now, once to buy my townhouse in Springfield, VA and again to sell it 14 years later. When Ellen served as my buyers agent, she was great. We met, discussed what I was looking for, what my price range was, the general boundaries of where I wanted to be and other key factors. She met me after work and we visited four possibilities in about two hours. At each house, she listened to my feedback on various features and used that to refine choices for the next set of houses wed visit. The next day, she told me, I think Ive got one you will really like, but I want to save it to the end. So we saw three houses and then went into the fourth, and sure enough, it fit the features for what I was looking for, even if it was just above what I thought my comfort zone for price was. She helped educate me on the pricing of the house, pointing out that the house was at the lowest price of the houses in the neighborhood, and showing the transaction history. She convinced me it was a good buy, and she was more than correct on that account.So flash forward 14 years and Im about to get married and start looking for a house for us. Actually, we skipped ahead a bit in the process and signed a contract for a new house under construction with an expected completion and closing date of October. This was May. She went through my house with me, offered suggestions on things to improve, things to change, and things that would do. She told me on Memorial Day that she would have a buyer for me at the price we set by Labor Day. While I had a little unrealistic idea on prices, she again educated me about the nature of the market at that time and the comparables on the market, pointing out a couple of foreclosures nearby of the same model and helped me price it. She was great on setting up open houses, getting feedback from people coming to view the house and getting it sold by late August, in plenty of time for the closing on the new construction. And at my price.Great agent, very insightful, and very responsive to concerns and needs. Id recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell a house.
