We had to start looking for a house out of necessity and desperation versus excitement and readiness. The ceiling in two rooms of the house that we had rented for 5 years fell onto our belongings, and the landlord decided that he wasn't going to fix it quickly or properly and told us that he was done with the house. I practiced law before health problems stalled my career, and my fiancA(C) is an insurance agent. When we tried to find a realtor, we could barely get anyone to even call us back! We knew what we wanted - a house on the historic street of Fair Park or a neighborhood with a similar feel with a short but crucial laundry list to accommodate living with our dogs happily and safely and our general needs as a family. The most attention that we could garner was having a few addresses thrown at us over the telephone and no follow up whatsoever. Thankfully, my brother recommended the realtor team who found he and his wives' dream home: Marc and Lorre Staretz. They responded immediately and even contacted my brother to ask if my fiancA(C) and I still needed them when my fiancA(C) missed an email in his inbox. Within under 2 weeks of meeting our realtors, we were making an offer on a house on Fair Park Blvd that checked off every necessity on our list (hardwood floors, fence, historic feel, 3 bedrooms, and 2 full baths) and that offer was accepted with their advice and guidance. Marc and Lorre have a wonderful relationship that extends into their ability to work flawlessly as a professional realty team. They both handle different aspects of the process from the offer, negotiations, signing papers, inspections to simply calming anxious home-buyers' nerves. They were with us and available to us during every single step of the process - Lorre spent multiple phone calls and email responses explaining the process to us and answering our many questions. Thanks to this wonderful couple, my fiancA(C), I, and his daughter are now in a house that belongs to us where we feel safer and much happier - knowing that we do not have to beg anyone to simply fix something in the house in which we live or be afraid to tell a landlord if something goes wrong. We went from just a house to a HOME that we love in around 60 days. We could have never done this without Lorre and Marc and our amazing lender. Marc and Lorre authentically care about their clients and take them under their wings throughout the entire process. We would recommend Marc Cupp and Lorre Staretz wholeheartedly whether someone is looking for a million dollar home or a more modest home with the assistance of a government down payment program. They will take care of you and treat you just as respectfully no matter where you fall in that spectrum and have the skills and know how to seamlessly guide you through the process. We are indebted to Marc and Lorre for their knowledge of the home-buying process and simply their general awareness that there are people involved in this process and that it's not just a financial transaction. We cannot express our gratitude for their assistance in changing the rest of our lives positively enough.
