I was closely involved in helping my grandmother throughout the sale of her home, and Ashley Hernandez represented the buyer. Unfortunately, dealing with Ashley from the other side of the transaction was an incredibly frustrating experience. Had I known beforehand how unnecessarily difficult and contentious the process would become, I genuinely would have encouraged my grandmother to reconsider the sale simply to avoid dealing with this transaction. My issue was never that Ashley advocated for her buyeraEUR"that is her job. My issue was the way she chose to handle disagreements and communication. In my experience, issues that could have been resolved through simple, professional conversations instead became sources of unnecessary complaining and conflict. There were also situations where it appeared that positions or decisions were being communicated before Ashley had actually discussed them with her buyer. That was particularly frustrating because it created unnecessary back-and-forth and made me question whether the focus was always on what her client actually wanted. More than anything, I felt that personal ego repeatedly got in the way of finding reasonable solutions. There is a difference between advocating strongly for your client and needing to prove a point. From my perspective, there were times when being aEURoerightaEUR? seemed more important than communicating, solving the issue, and moving the transaction forward in the best interest of the people actually buying and selling the home. This was my grandmothers home, and I was very involved in helping her navigate the sale. Selling a longtime family home is already an emotional process; it did not need the additional conflict. I expected everyone involved to communicate professionally and work toward a successful closing, even when disagreements arose. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Ashley. After this experience, I would not willingly be involved in another real estate transaction in which Ashley Hernandez represented the other party.
