I had an excellent experience working with Matthew Chapman while I was evaluating whether to sell my investment property in Bellevue. Although I ultimately decided to list with another agent, I wanted to write this review because I was genuinely impressed by Matthew and the amount of time, thought, and effort he put into helping me. My situation was somewhat complicated, and my plans evolved considerably over several months. At different points I was considering selling, continuing to rent the property, and making improvements to it. Matthew was patient throughout the process and never pressured me toward a particular decision. He visited the property multiple times, prepared a detailed comparative market analysis and seller net sheet, provided local market statistics, and helped me think through different levels of preparation before putting the house on the market. When market conditions changed, he updated his analysis and took the time to explain why his pricing recommendation had changed rather than simply giving me a new number. One thing I particularly appreciated was Matthew's thoughtful and analytical approach. I asked him a lot of detailed questions about comparable properties, pricing, market trends, improvements, and likely return on the money spent preparing the house. He took my questions seriously and responded thoughtfully, including doing additional research when appropriate. He was also very willing to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches rather than pushing me toward the option that would most quickly result in a listing. Communication was consistently excellent. Matthew was responsive, professional, patient, and easy to work with. He followed up when he said he would, but I never felt pressured by himaEUR"even during periods when I was uncertain about whether I wanted to sell at all. I ultimately decided to work with another agent for reasons specific to my personal circumstances and unrelated to the quality of my experience with Matthew. When I let Matthew know, he was exceptionally gracious and professional. Despite the considerable amount of time and effort he had already invested in helping me, he was completely understanding and even declined my offer to reimburse him for any of his work. His response only reinforced the very positive impression I had formed of him throughout the process. I came away from the experience with a great deal of respect for Matthew. He is knowledgeable, thoughtful, professional, and genuinely seems interested in helping his clients make the decision that is right for them.
