We had a very horrible experience with Abigail. It started off great, she is kind and friendly and we finally found a home we liked on our own. Originally, we told her the area we wanted to stay in but she took us to see houses 30-45 minutes away. We truly thought that she would be really helpful and make the process smooth, especially with the reviews. There was a major lack of communication on her part once the house was decided on. We had to constantly message and call her just to get updates on the status of amendments that were sent out for the seller to sign. There was very wrong information given to us in regards to closing numbers too. We had to be a mediator and call her and inspectors to set up a time and date for things to get done, instead of her working with them directly. Documents had misspellings and were definitely not detailed enough. We had to tell her exactly what we wanted and needed the document to say. She definitely wasn't on our side when it came to negotiating and I feel she just wanted a sell. A realtor should be firm and an advocate for their clients, I don't believe she even attempted to negotiate. She even tried making an excuse that the seller didn't know what they were signing after repairs weren't completed, prior to closing, which delayed us. The whole process ended up more stressful and being more of a nightmare than needed. I literally broke down crying due to the horrible experience because I thought it would never end. Yes, I did want to fire her but we were way too into this mess and were so close to closing. At some point during the final stages of closing, we as buyers were stressed out and so was everyone involved. The amendment she made had incorrect and missing information on it. We informed her of what needed to be on the document and she had the decency to tell us that she was tired and just wanted to get this over with. It was a Friday when she said she sent the documentation out. Come Tuesday, our closing date, which was four days away, there was no signed amendment from the seller. We were sincerely embarrassed since this was the kind of realtor we hired, all thanks to our lender, that was supposed to have all documents sorted out by closing. In the end, even the escrow officer had informed her that without proper documentation they couldn't credit us with what we were asking, as it would be outside of policy. The escrow officer was able to get this document signed by the seller within 30 minutes. If it wasn't for my immediate situation, my husband and the escrow officer we would have ended up have major issues. I do hope she learns from this experience as she even had the nerve to imply/suggest at closing in front of us to the lender that this was one of "the" transactions, suggesting how horrible it was. Though it is true, especially for us as buyers, this is definitely not how you treat clients or handle any kind of business when it comes to customer service. I do feel that we did most of her job for her and she just reaped the benefits since we settled for way less than we should have, to get them out of our hair. If you choose her as a realtor, you may have a smooth transaction if the house is exactly as you want it or there or minor repairs to be done. Hopefully, this experience is learned from so that other buyers won't go through what we did.
