Our experience with Kamilah Brathwaite as our property manager was an absolute nightmare. From day one, her communication was consistently short, rude, and condescending. It was clear she has no idea what she is doing, routinely making up arbitrary "rules" on the fly that contradicted our lease terms, simply dismissing questions with a blunt, "These are the rules." The administrative incompetence started before we even moved in: our lease was sent to us on five separate occasions, each time riddled with errors, misspellings, incorrect dates, and missing addendumsaEUR"every single one brushed off as an "oversight." Once inside, the disrespect continued, including repeatedly addressing my husband by the wrong name six months in. The most concerning issue was her forced mandate requiring us to create profiles and pay annual per-pet fees on a third-party app, solely to upload a single vaccination document. After discovering severe privacy concerns and fine print requiring consent to sell our personal data for profit, we raised valid concerns. Kamilah completely disregarded them. Following advice from an attorney, we deleted our accounts and removed our data. Predictably, we were immediately hit with a lease violation notice demanding documentation we had already texted directly to her months prior. Her default stance was that she acted solely in the homeowners best interest, showing zero acknowledgment of tenant rights or NC tenancy laws. Maintenance requests went unresolved, forcing us to bypass her entirely and contact the homeowner directlyaEUR"who was thankfully kind and supportive. We are professional adults who treat others with respect and require the same in return. Instead, we faced constant misinformation, dismissive attitudes, and manufactured rules. If you are a property owner or a tenant, steer clear of Kamilah Brathwaite.
